FCFA joins the World Vapers’ Alliance!

World Vapers’ Alliance is excited to welcome a new member of the WVA network – the Foundation for Consumer Freedom Advancement (FCFA).

The Foundation for Consumer Freedom Advancement (FCFA) is a network of activists, researchers, journalists, and consumers dedicated to promoting personal responsibility and the freedom of choice for consumers across Africa.

“We are an independent, non-profit and non-governmental organisation dedicated to amplifying the voices of consumers across Africa. We believe that adult consumers are entitled to decide how to consume their nicotine. Despite the negative consequences of smoking, there are less harmful ways to consume nicotine, such as through vapes, heated tobacco products and snus. However, they are vilified by people with very little scientific understanding of these products and their benefits to help smokers transition to a safer lifestyle.” – said Olumayowa Okediran, the Chairman of the FCFA.

FCFA works to advance the harm reduction consumer advocacy by engaging different stakeholders as an independent consumer-driven entity to defend the rights of consumers to decide what is best for them. The organisation protects the rights of consumers to explore alternatives to smoking and utilise the harm reduction approach to achieve that.

The World Vapers’ Alliance is thrilled to welcome FCFA in our fight to support vaping in Africa and globally!

Vaping can save 200 million lives and flavours play a key role in helping smokers quit. However, policymakers want to limit or ban flavours, putting our effort to end smoking-related deaths in jeopardy.
