Brussels, 30.07.2021 – The World Vapers’ Alliance has today announced the launch of the ‘Vape Bus’, a campaign bus that will travel around Europe through August and September as part of the Back Vaping. Beat Smoking campaign.
The electric pink bus will travel around Europe, gathering the stories of vapers and delivering their messages to politicians. The Vape Bus will illustrate the message that 19 million lives can be saved in Europe if policymakers embrace pro-vaping policies in the fight against smoking. The bus tour will launch in Barcelona at the end of August and visit Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Belgium, the UK and Switzerland.
Speaking about the European bus tour, Michael Landl, Director of the World Vapers’ Alliance said:
“The WVA’s Vape Bus tour will visit many major European cities to meet and engage with thousands of vapers who feel their voices have been ignored. We can only make real change if we are united, as vapers, to spread the message to Back Vaping, Beat Smoking and save 19 million European lives. We will spend the rest of the year organising mass-scale grassroots activism, educational events and advocacy to encourage policy makers to Back Vaping.
O Vape Bus will stop in iconic locations in major cities in Europe. With plenty of activities, the Bus will engage the public and encourage them to raise their voices in defence of vaping rights. There will be prizes, giveaways and a chance for vapers to tell the world what vaping means to them. The WVA is calling on vapers and advocates to support the campaign and help the bus reach even more people by purchasing campaign merchandise or making a donation or purchasing campaign merchandise.
This year is critical for the future of vaping rights in Europe, and across the world. The EU will review its main tobacco legislation, the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD), and global leaders will be meeting to discuss the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (COP9). Both these events will impact the rights of vapers for years to come. The Vape Bus will gather the stories of vapers and ensure that those making policy decisions are confronted with the evidence and the voices of vapers.
“We are calling on all European vapers to raise their voices. Together we need to ensure that vaping continues to be accessible and affordable to help millions more to quit smoking. We have to ACT and we have to act NOW. We only have a few months to influence the future of global vaping policies, so we are bringing vaping activism to the streets and telling politicians with one collective voice: Back Vaping. Beat Smoking. Join us today,” concluded Michael Landl.
