The World Vapers’ Alliance told Planet of the Vapes that the bill expands smoke-free areas to bar and restaurant terraces, beaches, stadiums, universities, bus stops, some private vehicles and others, and explicitly includes vaping, heated tobacco products and nicotine pouches under the same restrictions despite clear evidence that they carry significantly lower risks for both users and by-standers.
The organisation called the Bill “shocking” and says it follows a European Commission recommendation to extend smoke-free areas to vaping — “a proposal that was rejected by the European Parliament last year”.
