A survey conducted by the World Vapers’ Alliance (WVA) among its members found that 97% of respondents prefer vaping flavours or a combination of flavours and tobacco taste. Additionally, higher taxation would push almost a third of vapers to the black market. The WVA urges politicians to listen to consumers and avoid regulations and bans, creating a public health disaster.

Bans and high taxation only boost the black market and push many vapers back to smoking. It is time that politicians start listening to those most affected by their policies: the consumers!”

Principales conclusiones de la encuesta:

Sabores:

• Un asombroso 971% de los encuestados prefiere los sabores de vapeo o una combinación de sabores y sabor a tabaco. Solo el 31% afirma preferir el tabaco.
• Si se prohibieran los sabores: más de la mitad de los vapeadores intentarían conseguirlos en el mercado negro o volverían a fumar. 211 personas afirman que vapearían exclusivamente sabores a tabaco, y 161 creen que dejarían de vapear.

Aumentos de impuestos:

• Las subidas de impuestos fragmentarían los hábitos de consumo de los vapeadores:
  • 31% seguiría vapeando como lo hace actualmente y pagaría el precio más alto;
  • 30% dicen que vapearían menos para compensar el aumento de precio;
  • 28% intentaría introducir sus productos en el mercado negro.
