Nyligen genomf\u00f6rda \u00e5tg\u00e4rder, inklusive en\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/sv\/voices-unheard-consumers-matter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ljusshow och en tyst protest<\/a>, belyste denna or\u00e4ttvisa.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c4nd\u00e5 kvarst\u00e5r det verkliga problemet: konsumenternas r\u00f6ster ignoreras medan f\u00f6rbudspolitik, ofta driven av m\u00e4ktiga intressen som Michael Bloomberg och WHO, dominerar agendan.<\/p>\n<p>Denna utest\u00e4ngning \u00e4r s\u00e4rskilt farlig nu n\u00e4r v\u00e4rlden n\u00e4rmar sig ett avg\u00f6rande \u00f6gonblick f\u00f6r tobakspolitiken. I november kommer regeringar att samlas i Gen\u00e8ve f\u00f6r COP11 f\u00f6r att f\u00f6rhandla om framtiden f\u00f6r ramkonventionen om tobakskontroll (FCTC). Denna process har l\u00e4nge st\u00e4llt konsumenter \u00e5t sidan och f\u00f6rkastat strategier f\u00f6r skademinskning.<\/p>\n<p>Samtidigt p\u00e5g\u00e5r f\u00f6rberedelser inom Europeiska unionen f\u00f6r att revidera tobaksdirektivet (TPD), och lagstiftningsprocessen f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntas inledas under det irl\u00e4ndska ordf\u00f6randeskapet i r\u00e5det i juli 2026. Den l\u00e4nge f\u00f6rsenade uppdateringen av tobaksdirektivet (TED) \u00e4r ocks\u00e5 tillbaka p\u00e5 bordet. Tillsammans kommer dessa parallella utvecklingar att forma framtiden f\u00f6r nikotinpolitiken i Europa och v\u00e4rlden. Detta kommer att pr\u00f6va om beslutsfattarna kommer att st\u00f6dja innovation och skademinskning eller f\u00f6rst\u00e4rka en f\u00f6rbudspolitik som riskerar att undergr\u00e4va folkh\u00e4lsovinsterna.<\/p>\n<p>Tydliga bevis fr\u00e5n de senaste decennierna i l\u00e4nder som Sverige, Storbritannien och Nya Zeeland har visat att s\u00e4krare nikotinalternativ \u2013 s\u00e5som vaping, nikotinp\u00e5sar och snus \u2013 dramatiskt minskar r\u00f6kningstakten. P\u00e5 senare tid har nationella strategier inom\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Champions-of-Change-Harm-Reduction-Victory.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Grekland och Tjeckien<\/a>\u00a0har ocks\u00e5 visat hur pragmatiska skademinsknings\u00e5tg\u00e4rder kan ge verkliga folkh\u00e4lsovinster.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c4nd\u00e5 verkar Europeiska unionen i allt h\u00f6gre grad ansluta sig till V\u00e4rldsh\u00e4lsoorganisationens f\u00f6r\u00e5ldrade och ideologiskt drivna tillv\u00e4gag\u00e5ngss\u00e4tt. Enligt en\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/sv\/eu-turns-vapers-into-piggy-banks-lives-at-risk-as-eu-commission-pushes-for-extra-cash-instead-of-public-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">l\u00e4ckt dokument<\/a>, \u00f6verv\u00e4ger Europeiska kommissionen en betydande skatteh\u00f6jning f\u00f6r alla alternativa nikotinprodukter.<\/p>\n<p>Andra l\u00e4ckta utkast till kommissionens f\u00f6rslag f\u00f6resl\u00e5r f\u00f6rbud mot vapingsmak och begr\u00e4nsningar av nikotinp\u00e5sar. Det \u00e4r just den typen av \u00e5tg\u00e4rder som har misslyckats p\u00e5 andra h\u00e5ll. Snarare \u00e4n att skydda folkh\u00e4lsan riskerar dessa \u00e5tg\u00e4rder att skydda cigarettf\u00f6rs\u00e4ljningen genom att ta bort tillg\u00e5ngen till mindre skadliga alternativ.<\/p>\n<p>Men detta tillv\u00e4gag\u00e5ngss\u00e4tt \u00e4r inte bara missriktat, det \u00e4r i grunden antidemokratiskt. N\u00e4r World Vapers&#039; Alliance levererade \u00f6ver\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/sv\/every-life-counts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">100 000 underskrifter<\/a>\u00a0till Europaparlamentet som uppmanade till skydd av skademinskning, avsl\u00f6jade den en v\u00e4xande klyfta mellan EU:s beslutsfattare och de medborgare de tj\u00e4nar. Dessa var inte f\u00f6retagslobbyister \u2013 de var vanliga europ\u00e9er som slutade r\u00f6ka tack vare alternativ som vaping och som nu st\u00e5r inf\u00f6r hotet att f\u00f6rlora dessa verktyg, och deras egna representanter ignorerade dem helt.<\/p>\n<p>Samtidigt forts\u00e4tter WHO:s ramkonvention om tobakskontroll (kraftigt finansierad av Michael Bloomberg) att fr\u00e4mja en universalmodell som endast kr\u00e4ver avh\u00e5llsamhet. Resultatet har blivit f\u00f6rbud mot s\u00e4krare produkter medan l\u00e4ttant\u00e4ndliga cigaretter fortfarande \u00e4r allm\u00e4nt tillg\u00e4ngliga. I l\u00e4nder som Mexiko och Indien har ett Bloomberg-st\u00f6dt vapingf\u00f6rbud ber\u00f6vat r\u00f6kare alla m\u00f6jliga alternativ. Kommer EU att upprepa sitt misstag?<\/p>\n<p>Det finns fortfarande tid att \u00e4ndra kurs. EU kan f\u00f6reg\u00e5 med gott exempel och f\u00f6respr\u00e5ka evidensbaserad reglering som s\u00e4tter konsumenterna i centrum f\u00f6r beslutsfattandet. Skademinskning \u00e4r inte ett kryph\u00e5l: det \u00e4r en livr\u00e4ddande strategi, vilket l\u00e4nder som sett historiska minskningar av r\u00f6krelaterade sjukdomar har visat. FCTC m\u00e5ste erk\u00e4nna detta, och EU b\u00f6r driva p\u00e5 f\u00f6r att det ska inkluderas, inte backa bakom ideologi.<\/p>\n<p>Beslutsfattare m\u00e5ste st\u00e5 emot p\u00e5tryckningar fr\u00e5n f\u00f6rbudsaktivister som Michael Bloomberg och ist\u00e4llet anamma smartare reglering baserad p\u00e5 vetenskap och verkliga resultat. COP11 f\u00e5r inte bli ytterligare ett slutet toppm\u00f6te d\u00e4r konsumentr\u00f6ster exkluderas och f\u00f6r\u00e5ldrat t\u00e4nkande r\u00e5der. Att tysta dessa r\u00f6ster kommer inte att f\u00e5 dem att f\u00f6rsvinna \u2013 det kommer bara att f\u00f6rdjupa misstro och f\u00f6rsena framsteg.
