Aten, 16.4.2025. Konsumentorganisationer och vapingf\u00f6respr\u00e5kare fr\u00e5n Grekland och hela Europa, inklusive Grekiska Vapersalliansen och V\u00e4rldsvapersalliansen (WVA), sl\u00e5r larm \u00f6ver h\u00e4lsoministeriets\u00a0f\u00f6reslaget f\u00f6rbud<\/a> p\u00e5 alla vape-smaker utom tobak och mentol. De varnar f\u00f6r att denna \u00e5tg\u00e4rd riskerar att motverka Greklands h\u00e5rt vunna framsteg med att minska r\u00f6kningssiffrorna.<\/p>\n

Sedan 2019, d\u00e5 Grekland officiellt antog skademinskning som en central pelare i sin tobakskontrollpolitik, har landet v\u00e4nt den tidigare v\u00e4xande trenden med r\u00f6kning \u2013 en skarp kontrast till den stagnation som setts i stora delar av EU.<\/p>\n

Michael Landl, chef f\u00f6r World Vapers' Alliance, sa:<\/p>\n

\u201cEtt f\u00f6rbud mot smak\u00e4mnen skulle vara ett stort steg bak\u00e5t f\u00f6r folkh\u00e4lsan och skademinskning.\u201d. <\/em>Genom att st\u00f6dja ett f\u00f6rbud mot smak\u00e4mnen skulle beslutsfattare driva miljontals vuxna tillbaka till r\u00f6kning eller in p\u00e5 svarta marknaden, vilket skulle \u00e4ventyra liv och ignorera vetenskapliga bevis.<\/em><\/strong> Vetenskaplig forskning visar konsekvent att smaker spelar en avg\u00f6rande roll f\u00f6r att hj\u00e4lpa r\u00f6kare att sluta. \u201cAtt f\u00f6rbjuda smak\u00e4mnen i e-cigaretter \u00e4r ett ytligt och farligt beslut.\u201d. <\/em>Den riktar sig inte mot den verkliga orsaken till minder\u00e5rigas anv\u00e4ndning, men den straffar hundratusentals vuxna f\u00f6re detta r\u00f6kare som har lyckats sluta r\u00f6ka tack vare smak\u00e4mnen.<\/em><\/strong> Ist\u00e4llet f\u00f6r att fr\u00e4mja skademinskning, pressar de tillbaka dem till cigaretter eller den illegala marknaden. Vi uppmanar h\u00e4lsoministeriet att omedelbart ompr\u00f6va detta tillv\u00e4gag\u00e5ngss\u00e4tt och lyssna p\u00e5 konsumenternas r\u00f6st.\u201d
