EU har hittills misslyckats med att genomf\u00f6ra en effektiv strategi f\u00f6r att bek\u00e4mpa r\u00f6kningssiffrorna, medan Sverige, det enda landet i v\u00e4rlden som \u00e4r p\u00e5 v\u00e4g att bli r\u00f6kfritt, f\u00e5r enorm uppm\u00e4rksamhet f\u00f6r sina anm\u00e4rkningsv\u00e4rda framsteg.<\/p>\n<p>EU, tillsammans med m\u00e5nga andra l\u00e4nder runt om i v\u00e4rlden, anv\u00e4nder en kontraproduktiv strategi f\u00f6r att bek\u00e4mpa r\u00f6kepidemin. Deras strategi har varit att f\u00e5 alternativa produkter att verka lika skadliga som tobak, begr\u00e4nsa tillg\u00e5ngen till dem och \u00f6ka beskattningen f\u00f6r att g\u00f6ra dem dyrare och avskr\u00e4cka fr\u00e5n deras anv\u00e4ndning. Och den strategin ger ganska nedsl\u00e5ende resultat.<\/p>\n<p>Trots alla anstr\u00e4ngningar fr\u00e5n de europeiska institutionerna ligger den totala r\u00f6kningsgraden i EU fortfarande p\u00e5 251 000 000, och cirka 700 000 m\u00e4nniskor d\u00f6r varje \u00e5r p\u00e5 grund av r\u00f6krelaterade sjukdomar.
