Globala v\u00e4lg\u00f6renhetsorganisationer och h\u00e4lsoaktivister uppmanar r\u00f6kare att sluta med sin d\u00f6dliga cigarettvana p\u00e5 V\u00e4rldsdagen f\u00f6r tobaksfria cigaretter.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cancer Research UK har sl\u00e4ppt en ny analys som uppskattar att en person d\u00f6r var femte minut av tobak i Storbritannien och har uppmanat regeringen att g\u00f6ra mer f\u00f6r att hj\u00e4lpa r\u00f6kare att sluta.<\/p>\n

Den har lanserat en namninsamling som sammanfaller med V\u00e4rldsdagen f\u00f6r tobaksfria dagar idag, d\u00e4r man ber premi\u00e4rministern att inr\u00e4tta en \u201cR\u00f6kfri fond <\/em>\u201d vilket skulle bidra till att betala kostnaderna f\u00f6r tobakskontroll, som man s\u00e4ger \u00e4r allvarligt underfinansierad.<\/p>\n

Samtidigt har en grupp ledande grupper f\u00f6r att minska tobaksskador, inklusive World Vapers' Alliance, lyft fram vapningens roll i att minska d\u00f6dsfall och sjukdomar orsakade av r\u00f6kning med lanseringen av World Vape Day ig\u00e5r (30 maj).<\/p>\n

Evenemanget, som nu \u00e4r inne p\u00e5 sitt fj\u00e4rde \u00e5r, visade upp den globala vapinggemenskapen som f\u00f6respr\u00e5kar globala skademinskningsinsatser och f\u00f6rdelarna med att anv\u00e4nda e-cigaretter \u2013 som Public Health England anser vara 95 procent s\u00e4krare \u00e4n tobak \u2013 som ett effektivt s\u00e4tt att byta fr\u00e5n cigaretter.<\/p>\n

Och p\u00e5 V\u00e4rldsdagen f\u00f6r tobaksfria l\u00e4kemedel driver de \u2013 tillsammans med ledam\u00f6ter av Europaparlamentet och konsumentaktivister \u2013 p\u00e5 f\u00f6r en mer \u00f6ppen strategi f\u00f6r skademinskning i EU, med fokus inte p\u00e5 att bek\u00e4mpa vapning utan p\u00e5 hur man kan bli ett r\u00f6kfritt land \u2013 som till exempel Sverige, som snart firar den statusen i \u00e5r.<\/p>\n

"V\u00e4rldsdagen utan tobak \u00e4r en sorglig p\u00e5minnelse om att det beh\u00f6vs en ny strategi i kampen mot r\u00f6kning.\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"Ist\u00e4llet f\u00f6r att bek\u00e4mpa mindre skadliga alternativ som vapning m\u00e5ste EU och WHO b\u00f6rja acceptera verkligheten: skademinskning fungerar! Sverige blir i \u00e5r det f\u00f6rsta r\u00f6kfria landet tack vare en konsumentv\u00e4nlig skademinskande strategi. Det \u00e4r h\u00f6g tid att l\u00e4ra av de svenska erfarenheterna och d\u00e4rmed r\u00e4dda miljontals liv. Med en smart skademinskande strategi kan vi n\u00e5 ett r\u00f6kfritt Europa mycket snabbare \u00e4n m\u00e5let.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n
