Bryssel, 31 maj 2023 \u2014<\/strong> Idag, p\u00e5 V\u00e4rldsdagen f\u00f6r r\u00f6kfria r\u00f6kare, uttryckte ledam\u00f6terna i Europaparlamentet sin oro \u00f6ver EU:s strategi f\u00f6r r\u00f6kavv\u00e4njning och betonade behovet av en f\u00f6rnuftig, riskbaserad strategi, i linje med den svenska r\u00f6kfria politiken. Ledam\u00f6terna Charlie Weimers och Johan Nissinen efterlyste en mer \u00f6ppen strategi f\u00f6r skademinskning i EU vid presskonferensen i Bryssel, som anordnades av World Vapers' Alliance.<\/p>\n

\u201cDet svenska fallet utg\u00f6r den tredje och sista avg\u00f6rande pelaren i argumentet f\u00f6r skademinskning. Vetenskapen, konsumenternas erfarenheter och nu det svenska exemplet bevisar att skademinskning fungerar f\u00f6r att uppn\u00e5 ett r\u00f6kfritt samh\u00e4lle. Nu har vi ett obestridligt argument f\u00f6r att EU-omfattande reglering m\u00e5ste vara riskbaserad och evidensbaserad.\u201d<\/em> sa Michael Landl, chef f\u00f6r World Vapers' Alliance.<\/p>\n

\u201cPolitiken b\u00f6r vara evidensbaserad. WHO kommer snart att klassificera Sverige som Europas f\u00f6rsta r\u00f6kfria land p\u00e5 grund av skademinskande \u00e5tg\u00e4rder och utbredd anv\u00e4ndning av snus. Sverige har ett brett utbud av skademinskande produkter: vi har snus, nikotinp\u00e5sar, vaping, etc. M\u00e4nniskor ges ett val!\u201d <\/em>kommenterade parlamentsledamoten Charlie Weimers. \u201c"Sverige minskar skadorna och det fungerar mycket bra"\u201d<\/em> avslutade parlamentsledamot Weimers.<\/p>\n

F\u00f6r att f\u00f6rst\u00e4rka den svenska modellens genomslagskraft sa parlamentsledamoten Johann Nissinen: \u201cDet \u00e4r tydligt att r\u00f6kning d\u00f6dar, och vi m\u00e5ste g\u00f6ra allt vi kan f\u00f6r att f\u00f6rhindra dessa on\u00f6diga d\u00f6dsfall. Sverige \u00e4r det b\u00e4sta exemplet p\u00e5 hur detta \u00e4r m\u00f6jligt, n\u00e4mligen med en pragmatisk skademinskande strategi. Det \u00e4r det enda landet i EU d\u00e4r snus \u00e4r lagligt och popul\u00e4rt, och 181\u00a0000 av befolkningen anv\u00e4nder det. Att konsumera snus ist\u00e4llet f\u00f6r cigaretter r\u00e4ddade m\u00e5nga svenska liv. Det \u00e4r dags att EU-kommissionen f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntar sig denna verklighet och b\u00f6rjar agera d\u00e4refter.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cSnus har anv\u00e4nts sedan 1800-talet, s\u00e5 vi har mer \u00e4n tv\u00e5hundra \u00e5rs fallstudier som bevisat att tobaksskademinskning fungerar. Snus \u00e4r ett utm\u00e4rkt s\u00e4tt att forts\u00e4tta konsumera nikotin utan de skadliga kemikalierna som du f\u00e5r i dig fr\u00e5n traditionella l\u00e4ttant\u00e4ndliga cigaretter.\u201d<\/em> sa Carissa D\u00fcring, chef f\u00f6r Considerate Poachers. \u201cM\u00e5nga l\u00e4nder i Europa f\u00f6rs\u00f6ker \u00f6verreglera eller f\u00f6rbjuda alternativa nikotinprodukter. Endast med skademinskningsstrategin som en central del av den nya tobaksf\u00f6rordningen kan EU uppn\u00e5 sina r\u00f6kfria m\u00e5l innan m\u00e5let.\u201d<\/em> avslutade Landl.<\/p>\n
