02.03.2023, Bryssel, Belgien \u2014<\/strong> Idag sl\u00e4ppte ECigIntelligence sin tredje \u00e5rliga rapport unders\u00f6kning<\/a> bland ledam\u00f6ter i Europaparlamentet om deras \u00e5sikter om nikotinprodukter. Resultaten fr\u00e5n 2022 \u00e5rs unders\u00f6kning kommer en vecka efter att EU-kommissionen offentliggjorde det andra offentliga samr\u00e5det f\u00f6r \u00f6versynen av EU:s tobaksproduktdirektiv.<\/p>\n

Enligt unders\u00f6kningen anser en liten majoritet av parlamentsledam\u00f6terna att nikotinhaltiga produkter \u00e4r mindre skadliga \u00e4n r\u00f6kning, medan antalet beslutsfattare som anser att de \u00e4r lika skadliga som r\u00f6kning har minskat med 61 TP4T. En fj\u00e4rdedel av de svarande saknar fortfarande kunskap om produkternas natur och riskniv\u00e5er.<\/p>\n

Michael Landl, chef f\u00f6r World Vapers' Alliance, kommenterade unders\u00f6kningsresultaten:<\/p>\n

\u201cVi firar att fler och fler lagstiftare blir medvetna om f\u00f6rdelarna med att minska skadeverkningar genom r\u00f6kning. Unders\u00f6kningen visar dock ocks\u00e5 att det finns en stor dragningskraft bland parlamentsledam\u00f6ter som saknar grundl\u00e4ggande kunskaper om skadeverkningar fr\u00e5n tobak, och \u00e4nd\u00e5 kommer de att avg\u00f6ra framtiden f\u00f6r tobakslagstiftningen under kommande \u00e5r. Myterna om vaping och nikotin har hindrat m\u00e5nga regeringar fr\u00e5n att anamma skadeverkningar. Hur kan vi f\u00f6rv\u00e4nta oss att f\u00f6rnuftig reglering baserad p\u00e5 den riskbaserade metoden antas om mer \u00e4n h\u00e4lften av parlamentsledam\u00f6terna inte har n\u00e5gon kunskap om eller en missvisande uppfattning om r\u00f6kalternativ?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

World Vapers' Alliance har nyligen sl\u00e4ppt Policygrunder<\/a> som inneh\u00e5ller fallstudier av de mest framg\u00e5ngsrika l\u00e4nderna som har anammat alternativa produkter som ett s\u00e4tt att bek\u00e4mpa traditionell r\u00f6kning. Dessa inkluderar bland annat Storbritannien och Sverige.<\/p>\n

\u201cSverige \u00e4r det enda europeiska landet som \u00e4r n\u00e4ra att uppn\u00e5 ett r\u00f6kfritt m\u00e5l p\u00e5 5%. Och anledningen till denna framg\u00e5ng \u00e4r att svenska lagstiftare lyssnar p\u00e5 konsumenter och st\u00f6der skademinskning genom korrekt reglerat snus och en \u00f6ppen attityd till vaping. Tillsammans med n\u00e4tverket av vaping-organisationer forts\u00e4tter vi att sprida medvetenhet om nikotinprodukters positiva roll i Europa och utanf\u00f6r. Vi hoppas att EU-politiker kommer att f\u00f6lja exemplet och bli en global ledare inom skademinskning.\u201d<\/em> tillade Landl.<\/p>\n
