M\u00e5ndagen den 8 november sammantr\u00e4dde Europaparlamentets s\u00e4rskilda kommitt\u00e9 f\u00f6r bek\u00e4mpning av cancer f\u00f6r att diskutera \u00e4ndringsf\u00f6rslag till f\u00f6redragandens utkast till bet\u00e4nkande.<\/h5>\n

Europaparlamentets s\u00e4rskilda utskott f\u00f6r bek\u00e4mpning av cancer (BECA<\/a>) inr\u00e4ttades i september 2020 och best\u00e5r av 63 ledam\u00f6ter i Europaparlamentet, 33 ordinarie ledam\u00f6ter och 30 suppleanter. Utskottets syfte \u00e4r att unders\u00f6ka \u00e5tg\u00e4rder som EU kan vidta f\u00f6r att bek\u00e4mpa cancer och f\u00f6resl\u00e5 \u00e5tg\u00e4rder i alla viktiga skeden av sjukdomen: f\u00f6rebyggande, diagnos, behandling, livet som cancer\u00f6verlevare och palliativ v\u00e5rd.<\/p>\n

Den 3 februari 2021 publicerade kommissionen Europas plan f\u00f6r att bek\u00e4mpa cancer<\/a> med konsultationer<\/a> p\u00e5 f\u00e4rdplanen som l\u00f6per fr\u00e5n 4 februari till 3 mars 2020 och p\u00e5 rapporten fr\u00e5n 4 februari till 21 maj 2020.<\/p>\n

De utkast till rapport<\/a> Den 25 juni publicerades slutligen dokumentet "Bek\u00e4mpa cancer", och till experternas f\u00f6rtret p\u00e5 skademinskning av tobaksprodukter misslyckades det med att inse potentialen hos vaping i kampen mot r\u00f6kningsinducerad cancer. Vid den tidpunkten betonade chefen f\u00f6r World Vapers Association (WVA), Michael Landl, att dokumentet \u00e4r en f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttring av Europeiska kommissionens utkast, som l\u00e4mnar d\u00f6rren \u00f6ppen f\u00f6r smakf\u00f6rbud och h\u00f6gre skatter, men genom att ignorera potentialen hos vapingprodukter missar det fortfarande m\u00e5let.<\/p>\n
