K\u00e4ra h\u00e4lsoministrar,<\/p>\n

Den 16 mars kommer ni att h\u00e5lla ett diskussionsm\u00f6te om Europas plan mot cancer som lagts fram av kommissionen. Som h\u00e4lsominister och en ivrig f\u00f6respr\u00e5kare f\u00f6r h\u00e4lsopolitik har ni ett otroligt ansvar gentemot cancerpatienter och europeiska medborgare i hela unionen. Det \u00e4r d\u00e4rf\u00f6r vi kontaktar er inf\u00f6r det kommande m\u00f6tet med EU-kommissionen.<\/p>\n

Vi anser att denna plan inte tar tillr\u00e4cklig h\u00e4nsyn till tobak och r\u00f6krelaterade cancerformer. Planen st\u00e4nger d\u00f6rren f\u00f6r r\u00f6kare som f\u00f6rs\u00f6ker sluta anv\u00e4nda nya tobaksprodukter, s\u00e4rskilt vapning, genom att v\u00e4lja avh\u00e5llsamhet framf\u00f6r skademinskning.<\/p>\n

Kommissionens cancerplan har f\u00f6reslagit att vaping ska beskattas p\u00e5 samma s\u00e4tt som tobak, att vaping ska f\u00f6rbjudas i offentliga utrymmen och att vapingprodukter och vapesmaker ska behandlas som samma sak som tobak. Detta \u00e4r en missriktad och farlig politik.<\/p>\n

Studier visar att vejpare l\u00f6per dubbelt s\u00e5 stor risk att sluta r\u00f6ka permanent som de som anv\u00e4nder nikotinpl\u00e5ster eller tuggummi, och det finns vetenskapliga bevis f\u00f6r att vejpare uts\u00e4tts f\u00f6r 0,4% av r\u00f6karens livstidsrisk f\u00f6r cancer. Genom att f\u00f6rbjuda dessa apparater ignorerar kommissionens cancerplan hundratusentals vejpare i hela Europa.<\/p>\n

P\u00e5 World Vapers' Alliance vet vi att v\u00e5ra 13 000 vapers och 23 partnerorganisationer \u00e4r mycket oroade \u00f6ver utvecklingen av vapinglagstiftning p\u00e5 europeisk niv\u00e5. Om kommissionens nuvarande riktlinjer f\u00f6r vapingprodukter bibeh\u00e5lls kommer det att leda till \u00f6kade r\u00f6kningssiffror och h\u00e4mma eventuella framsteg mot ett cancerfritt samh\u00e4lle. Denna plan skulle ocks\u00e5 f\u00e5 dominoeffekter p\u00e5 regulatoriska omr\u00e5den runt om i v\u00e4rlden. D\u00e4rf\u00f6r uppmanar vi er att avvisa EU-kommissionens nuvarande version av planen eftersom den skulle f\u00e5 katastrofala konsekvenser f\u00f6r folkh\u00e4lsan, vilket ni kan se i dokumentet nedan.<\/p>\n
