N\u00e4r Consumer Choice Center kontaktade mig och fr\u00e5gade om jag var intresserad av att leda en allians av vejpare var min f\u00f6rsta reaktion: det h\u00e4r \u00e4r v\u00e4ldigt personligt.<\/p>\n

Varf\u00f6r offentligt tillk\u00e4nnage att jag just har gjort mig av med en vana som sakta men s\u00e4kert h\u00f6ll p\u00e5 att ta d\u00f6d p\u00e5 mig? Men n\u00e4r jag l\u00e4rde mig lite om den politiska debatten kring vaping ins\u00e5g jag snabbt att jag m\u00e5ste engagera mig.<\/p>\n

Debatten kring vaping involverar flera akt\u00f6rer, av vilka n\u00e5gra har en allvarlig missuppfattning om b\u00e5de vetenskapen och vad det inneb\u00e4r att vara en vaper.<\/p>\n

Stora beslut kring vapingens framtid kommer att fattas under de kommande \u00e5ren, b\u00e5de p\u00e5 global niv\u00e5 d\u00e5 WHO \u00f6verv\u00e4ger att reglera e-cigaretter som tobak, och d\u00e5 EU:s tobaksdirektiv ses \u00f6ver.<\/p>\n

WVA talar f\u00f6r vapare \u2013 b\u00e5de nuvarande och framtida \u2013 runt om i v\u00e4rlden, och kommer att k\u00e4mpa f\u00f6r deras r\u00e4tt att v\u00e4lja det hittills mest k\u00e4nda flyktmedlet \u2013 vaping \u2013 f\u00f6r att hj\u00e4lpa dem att bryta sig loss fr\u00e5n tobaksberoende.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Om vapnare inte h\u00f6rs i dessa debatter kan vapning g\u00e5 f\u00f6rlorad och d\u00e4rmed denna enorma folkh\u00e4lsoutnyttjande m\u00f6jlighet. Ni har s\u00e4kert sett fr\u00e5n mitt tidigare blogginl\u00e4gg vilken dramatisk inverkan vapning har haft p\u00e5 mitt liv. Jag \u00e4r inte unik. Vapning kan f\u00f6r\u00e4ndra miljontals liv till det b\u00e4ttre och vi f\u00f6rtj\u00e4nar b\u00e4ttre fr\u00e5n v\u00e5ra lagstiftare och folkh\u00e4lsov\u00e5rdstj\u00e4nstem\u00e4n.<\/p>\n

I takt med att vi st\u00e5r inf\u00f6r covid-19 \u00f6versv\u00e4mmar \u00e4nnu mer felinformation om vaping n\u00e4tverken. Folk s\u00e4ger felaktigt att vaping \u00e4r lika farligt som r\u00f6kning (\u00e4ven om det bevisats vara s\u00e4krare) och att det kan sprida coronaviruset (vilket \u00e5terigen har bevisats vara felaktigt).<\/p>\n

Pragmatiker som jag menar att det \u00e4r viktigare \u00e4n n\u00e5gonsin att erbjuda en utv\u00e4g fr\u00e5n r\u00f6kberoende, och att m\u00e4nniskor som har bytt inte f\u00e5r frestas tillbaka p\u00e5 grund av bristande tillg\u00e5ng till vapingprodukter. P\u00e5 samma s\u00e4tt kan de som fortfarande r\u00f6ker inte l\u00e4tt ignorera det \u00f6kade hotet mot h\u00e4lsan som COVID-19 utg\u00f6r. De beh\u00f6ver vapingalternativet mer \u00e4n n\u00e5gonsin.<\/p>\n
