O n\u00famero de fumantes est\u00e1 praticamente estagnado ou, em alguns pa\u00edses, at\u00e9 mesmo aumentando, enquanto a Su\u00e9cia em breve alcan\u00e7ar\u00e1 a meta de uma sociedade livre do tabaco.<\/h4>\n<p>A taxa de tabagismo na UE \u00e9 de 251 mil para cada 4 mil habitantes e mais de 700 mil pessoas morrem anualmente devido ao tabagismo. A maioria dos Estados-Membros ficar\u00e1 muito aqu\u00e9m da meta. <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/presscorner\/detail\/en\/ip_21_342\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Meta da UE de uma taxa de tabagismo inferior a 5%<\/a> at\u00e9 2040, se a pol\u00edtica continuar como est\u00e1.<\/p>\n<p>No entanto, uma an\u00e1lise da Su\u00e9cia mostra que existe outro caminho e que a ambiciosa meta de uma sociedade livre do tabaco \u00e9 alcan\u00e7\u00e1vel. Assim, de acordo com a defini\u00e7\u00e3o da UE, a Su\u00e9cia alcan\u00e7ou a meta da UE 17 anos antes do previsto e estar\u00e1 livre do fumo este ano. O que torna a Su\u00e9cia diferente?<\/p>\n<p>A resposta \u00e9: pol\u00edticas de sa\u00fade baseadas na ci\u00eancia. A Su\u00e9cia adotou o conceito de redu\u00e7\u00e3o dos danos causados pelo tabaco e apoia a transi\u00e7\u00e3o do cigarro para alternativas menos nocivas, como cigarros eletr\u00f4nicos, sach\u00eas de nicotina e snus.
