Zeven belangengroepen in heel Europa hebben een brief geschreven.\u00a0open brief<\/a>\u00a0Aan het directoraat-generaal SANTE van de Europese Commissie, Ursula von der Leyen (voorzitter van de Europese Commissie) en Oliv\u00e9r V\u00e1rhelyi (commissaris voor Volksgezondheid en Voedselveiligheid) wordt verzocht een einde te maken aan hun ongefundeerde strijd tegen de schadelijke gevolgen van tabaksgebruik. In de brief wordt hen tevens opgeroepen de koers van de aanstaande herziening van de Tabaksproductenrichtlijn te heroverwegen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

De World Vapers' Alliance laat Planet of the Vapes weten dat de brief rechtstreeks ingaat tegen het evaluatierapport van de Commissie over de TPD (Tobacco Products Directive), dat eerder deze maand is gepubliceerd.<\/p>\n

\u201cHet verzoekt de Commissie een risico-evenredig kader toe te passen, de toegang van volwassenen tot minder schadelijke alternatieven te beschermen en te leren van landen zoals\u00a0<\/i>Zweden, Tsjechi\u00eb en Griekenland<\/i><\/a>, dat een van de snelste dalingen in roken in Europa wist te realiseren door zich te richten op schadebeperking in plaats van op het beperken ervan,<\/i>\u201d" stond er.<\/p>\n
