{"id":6800,"date":"2026-02-23T05:17:21","date_gmt":"2026-02-23T10:17:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/?p=6800"},"modified":"2026-02-23T05:17:21","modified_gmt":"2026-02-23T10:17:21","slug":"eescs-call-for-less-harm-less-tax-approach-on-nicotine-products","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/nl_nl\/eescs-call-for-less-harm-less-tax-approach-on-nicotine-products\/","title":{"rendered":"Het EESC pleit voor een &#039;minder schade, minder belasting&#039;-aanpak voor nicotineproducten."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brussel, 23 februari 2026 \u2013 Het Europees Economisch en Sociaal Comit\u00e9 (EESC) <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eesc.europa.eu\/en\/our-work\/opinions-information-reports\/opinions\/revision-tobacco-taxation-directive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ontwerpadvies<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> over de herziening van de Tabaksbelastingrichtlijn (TED) <\/span><b>verzoekt de EU een risicogebaseerde belastingaanpak te volgen<\/b> <b>en waarschuwt dat buitensporig hoge, slecht ontworpen belastingen de illegale markt kunnen aanwakkeren.,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Het ondermijnt de doelstellingen op het gebied van de volksgezondheid en verlaagt de wettelijke belastinginkomsten in plaats van het roken terug te dringen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hoewel het EESC een herziening van de richtlijn ter actualisering van het belastingkader steunt, stelt het dat de belastingheffing moet worden afgestemd op de verschillen in schadelijkheid tussen producten. Volgens deze logica van &quot;minder schadelijk, minder belasting&quot; zouden brandbare sigaretten de hoogste belastingdruk moeten krijgen, terwijl minder risicovolle alternatieven niet op hetzelfde niveau zouden moeten worden belast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u201c&quot;Dit is een duidelijke boodschap vanuit de EU dat belastingen de verschillen in schadelijkheid moeten weerspiegelen. De Commissie en de Raad moeten hier nota van nemen en van koers veranderen: stop met het gelijk belasten van alle nicotineproducten en ga over op een systeem dat echt gebaseerd is op risico&#039;s.&quot;\u201d<\/i><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">aldus Alberto G\u00f3mez Hern\u00e1ndez, beleidsmanager bij World Vapers Alliance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hoewel het EESC pleit voor een evenredige, op risico gebaseerde aanpak, dringt de Raad er momenteel op aan om de minimumaccijnstarieven op e-vloeistoffen fors te verhogen \u2013 een stijging van 50% ten opzichte van de meest recente compromistekst, zoals gemeld door <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/clearingtheair.eu\/en\/post\/exclusive-eu-puts-huge-vape-tax-increase-back-on-the-table\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De lucht klaren<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Dit leidt tot een duidelijk conflict tussen een EU-adviesorgaan dat pleit voor risicogebaseerde belastingheffing en een standpunt van de Raad dat zeer verschillende producten behandelt alsof ze hetzelfde risico vormen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><\/i><b><i>Dit is h\u00e9t moment voor de Raad om te beslissen wat echt voorrang heeft: de volksgezondheid of de belastinginkomsten.
