Na verklaringen van 104 afgevaardigden van de landen zijn de beleidsdiscussies begonnen en de eerste <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/nl_nl\/cop11-eu-commission-and-denmark-betray-agreement-with-secret-vape-ban-push\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">lek<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is naar voren gekomen. De Europese Commissie en Denemarken dringen aan op een verbod op vapen en e-sigaretten, ondanks het gezamenlijke standpunt van de EU dat dergelijke maatregelen verwerpt. Dit ondermijnt het democratische proces en negeert bewijs en de principes van schadebeperking door tabak. Het brengt Denemarken en de Commissie op \u00e9\u00e9n lijn met landen zoals Brazili\u00eb, dat voorstellen heeft ingediend bij de WHO waarin wordt opgeroepen tot volledige afwijzing van schadebeperking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maar er is goed nieuws. We zien de eerste scheuren in de ideologische muur van COP11. Landen begonnen zich te verzetten en eisten transparantie, inclusie in besluitvormingsprocessen en maatregelen gebaseerd op wetenschap en de principes van schadebeperking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nieuw-Zeeland, Albani\u00eb, Gambia, Mozambique, Servi\u00eb, Noord-Macedoni\u00eb, Saint Kitts en Nevis en nog veel meer landen verwierpen het verhaal van de WHO. <\/span><b>De definitieve taal van COP11 lijkt aanzienlijk te zijn verzacht<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><b>Veel partijen gaven een duidelijke voorkeur aan vrijwillige begeleiding<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>flexibele implementatie en lokale besluitvorming boven top-down mandaten.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In de tussentijd, <\/span><b>het maatschappelijk middenveld en de consumenten bleven buitengesloten<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> van onderhandelingen. Besloten vergaderingen en de <\/span><b>publieke schande van Nieuw-Zeeland<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, een land dat wereldwijd wordt geprezen om zijn succes met vapen bij het terugdringen van roken, en dat de &#039;\u2018<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/clearingtheair.eu\/en\/post\/cop-11-the-dirty-ashtray-award-goes-to-new-zealand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">vuile asbak<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019&#039; van het prohibitionistische FCTC-secretariaat, onthulde de aanhoudende intolerantie voor schadebeperking binnen het WHO-proces.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WVA zal de uitkomsten van COP11 blijven volgen en zich sterk maken voor consumentenparticipatie, transparantie en risicogebaseerde regelgeving.
