De World Vapers&#039; Alliance (WVA) heeft haar <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/law\/better-regulation\/have-your-say\/initiatives\/12645-Tobacco-taxation-excise-duties-for-manufactured-tobacco-products-updated-rules-\/F33094390_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">standpuntnota<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> over het voorstel van de Europese Commissie om de tabaksaccijnsrichtlijn te herzien, <\/span><b>waarschuwing dat het plan miljoenen rokers zou straffen die proberen te stoppen en de rookvrije doelstellingen van Europa zou ondermijnen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Voor het eerst stelt de Commissie EU-brede minimumbelastingen voor op vape-producten, verwarmde tabak en nicotinezakjes, waardoor de prijzen ervan dicht bij die van sigaretten komen. Volgens de WVA:,<\/span><b> Dit zou de belangrijkste prikkel voor rokers om over te stappen op veiligere alternatieven wegnemen, de illegale markt aanwakkeren en de verkoop van sigaretten beschermen in plaats van deze te verminderen.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alberto G\u00f3mez Hern\u00e1ndez, beleidsmanager bij de World Vapers&#039; Alliance, zei: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c&quot;Dit voorstel is een ramp voor de volksgezondheid. Belasting op rookvrije producten zoals sigaretten zal mensen aanzetten tot roken in plaats van te stoppen. <\/span><\/i><b><i>De Commissie negeert de wetenschap, burgers en succesverhalen uit de praktijk<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> uit landen als Zweden die bewijzen dat schadebeperking werkt.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Volgens het plan zouden de belastingen op e-liquids de verkoopprijzen in de meeste EU-landen meer dan verdubbelen. Nicotinezakjes zouden worden belast met 50% van de verkoopprijs, en verhitte tabak met 55% of meer van de verkoopprijs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>De WVA heeft de Commissie ook bekritiseerd voor het verspreiden van desinformatie en voor het verkeerd voorstellen van de inbreng van burgers.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in haar eigen openbare raadplegingen, waarbij de meerderheid van de respondenten tegen hogere belastingen op producten met een lager risico was.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cDe EU beweert een rookvrije toekomst te willen en we hebben overweldigend bewijs dat risicogebaseerde regelgeving helpt, maar ze blijven deze feiten negeren en stellen ideologie boven wetenschap.
