In plaats van vooruitgang te omarmen, zegt de organisatie, zetten de WHO en het secretariaat van het Kaderverdrag inzake Tabaksontmoediging (FCTC) hun &quot;ideologische kruistocht tegen schadebeperking voort \u2013 waarbij ze de wetenschap negeren, consumenten het zwijgen opleggen en toegeven aan de invloed van miljardairs&quot;.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/COP11_Playbook.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">nieuw document van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance<\/a>, dat vorige week werd gepubliceerd, onthult hoe landen als Zweden, het Verenigd Koninkrijk, Nieuw-Zeeland en Japan wereldwijd koploper zijn in het verlagen van het aantal rokers door minder schadelijke alternatieven aan te bieden, zoals vapen, nicotinezakjes en producten die je kunt verhitten in plaats van verbranden. Deze strategie\u00ebn leveren concrete resultaten op: het roken in Zweden is gedaald tot onder de 6%, en het evidence-based beleid van het Verenigd Koninkrijk heeft het aantal rokers naar het laagste niveau ooit gebracht. Ondertussen heeft Japan de sigarettenverkoop in slechts acht jaar tijd gehalveerd door technologiegedreven alternatieven toe te staan.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance, zei:\u00a0<i>\u201cHet geld van Bloomberg kan in sommige kamers stilte kopen, maar wetenschap kan niet voor altijd begraven blijven.<\/i>\u00a0<i>Met nog 100 dagen te gaan, moeten landen in actie komen en zich verzetten tegen deze elitaire, anti-consumentenagenda. Schadebeperking is niet controversieel, het redt levens.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Maar de Wereldgezondheidsorganisatie is hier niet in ge\u00efnteresseerd, zegt de World Vapers&#039; Alliance. In plaats van te leren van het succes, richten ze zich nu alleen nog maar op de boodschap dat onthouding de norm is.
