De \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/nl_nl\/voices-unheard-consumers-matter\/\">Stemmen die niet gehoord worden \u2013 Consumenten doen ertoe!<\/a>\u201dDe campagne omvatte een lichtshow die het conferentiecentrum verlichtte en een stil protest met afgeplakte monden, waarmee werd gesymboliseerd hoe volwassen rokers en ex-rokers een plaats aan tafel wordt ontzegd. Deze uitsluiting is niet alleen ironisch; het is een fatale tekortkoming in de wereldwijde tabaksbestrijding, die op de COP11 in Gen\u00e8ve in november een crisispunt zal bereiken, tenzij beleidsmakers de ideologisch gedreven agenda&#039;s van Michael Bloomberg en de Wereldgezondheidsorganisatie rechtstreeks aanpakken.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">De huidige aanpak van tabaksontmoediging is per definitie mislukt. Terwijl Bloomberg miljarden investeert in prohibitionistisch beleid en de WHO agressief aandringt op\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fctc.who.int\/newsroom\/news\/item\/30-05-2025-who-fctc-urges-parties-to-prohibit-ingredients-used-to-increase-product-attractiveness-and-palatability\">smaakverboden<\/a>\u00a0en beperkingen op veiligere alternatieven, worden de ervaringen van miljoenen mensen die gestopt zijn met roken door middel van producten met een lager risico genegeerd. Dit is geen toeval, het is ge\u00efnstitutionaliseerde uitsluiting. Het WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, dat sterk be\u00efnvloed wordt door Bloombergs financiering, negeert expliciet de stem van consumenten en expertise op het gebied van schadebeperking. Het resultaat is beleid zoals het e-sigaretverbod in India in 2019 \u2013 direct bepleit door door Bloomberg gefinancierde groepen \u2013 dat levensreddende alternatieven elimineert, terwijl verbrandingssigaretten breed verkrijgbaar blijven. Het is een perverse strategie voor de volksgezondheid: de sigarettenmarkt beschermen door concurrentie te verbieden.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Nergens is deze discrepantie alarmerender dan in de Europese Unie. Terwijl Zweden de status &quot;rookvrij&quot; nadert door pragmatische schadebeperking, flirt de Europese Commissie met prohibitief beleid tijdens de herziening van de Tabaksproductenrichtlijn.<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/nl_nl\/eu-turns-vapers-into-piggy-banks-lives-at-risk-as-eu-commission-pushes-for-extra-cash-instead-of-public-health\/\">Gelekte voorstellen<\/a>\u00a0suggereren een verbod op smaakjes, beperkingen op nicotinezakjes en accijnzen op vapen \u2013 maatregelen die Europeanen onvermijdelijk weer aan het roken zouden zetten. Dit is geen speculatie; het is een vaststaand patroon.<strong>\u00a0Toen de World Vapers&#039; Alliance leverde\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/nl_nl\/every-life-counts\/\">100.000 handtekeningen<\/a>\u00a0naar het Europees Parlement, dat protesteerde tegen deze regressieve maatregelen, en wees op een democratisch tekort<\/strong>: Beleidsmakers maken wetgeving tegen consumenten, niet v\u00f3\u00f3r hen. De aansluiting van de EU bij het antiwetenschappelijke standpunt van de WHO \u2013 waarbij &quot;minder schadelijk&quot; opzettelijk verkeerd wordt ge\u00efnterpreteerd als &quot;nog steeds schadelijk&quot; \u2013 negeert overweldigend bewijs van Public Health England en andere bronnen dat vapen veiliger is dan roken.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">COP11 biedt een laatste kans om een beleidsramp af te wenden. Toch is het 20-jarige trackrecord van de FCTC somber: uitsluiting van consumenten, ideologie boven bewijs, en de schaduwkant van Bloomberg domineren. Het FCTC-proces blokkeert actief consumentenparticipatie en negeert inzichten uit de praktijk van degenen die succesvol zijn gestopt met roken. De vraag van de WHO naar\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Briefing-WHO-Flavour-Ban.pdf\">smaakverboden<\/a>\u00a0In tegenspraak met gegevens waaruit blijkt dat smaken cruciaal zijn voor het stoppen met roken bij volwassenen. Bloomberg financiert de meeste wereldwijde initiatieven voor tabaksontmoediging, waardoor de tegenstand van zijn stichting tegen schadebeperking feitelijk een wereldwijd beleid is.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>De prioriteit moet liggen bij het redden van levens<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Hier moet een einde aan komen. Landen die schadebeperking omarmen, zien een ongekende daling van het roken: de invoering van verwarmde tabak in Japan verminderde de sigarettenverkoop in vijf jaar tijd met 42 procent. Zweden en Nieuw-Zeeland worden binnenkort rookvrij dankzij hun vooruitstrevende aanpak van vapen, pouches en snus.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">De oplossing vereist een fundamentele herstructurering. Consumenten moeten centraal staan in het beleidsontwerp, inclusief ex-rokers en voorstanders van schadebeperking in de COP11-delegaties. Beleidsmakers moeten zich houden aan de feiten en reguleren op basis van relatief risico, niet op basis van morele paniek. Bloombergs overmacht moet worden afgewezen; het volksgezondheidsbeleid mag niet worden bepaald door de persoonlijke kruistocht van een miljardair. De FCTC moet moderniseren en schadebeperking door tabaksgebruik omarmen als een kernstrategie, niet als een bedreiging.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Het protest in Dublin (zie foto) was geen theater, maar een waarschuwing. Wanneer beleid wordt opgesteld in echokamers van ideologie en invloed, faalt het. Nu COP11 nadert, is de keuze duidelijk: doorgaan met Bloombergs prohibitionistische experiment en miljoenen veroordelen tot sterfgevallen door roken, of eindelijk luisteren naar degenen die veiligere uitwegen hebben gevonden.
