Ze waarschuwen dat deze maatregel de moeizaam verworven vooruitgang van Griekenland op het gebied van het terugdringen van het aantal rokers teniet dreigt te doen.<\/p>\n<p>Sinds 2019, toen Griekenland officieel schadebeperking als een kernpijler van zijn tabaksbeleid omarmde, heeft het land de eerdere groeiende trend van roken omgedraaid. Dit staat in schril contrast met de stagnatie die in een groot deel van de EU te zien is.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance, zei:<\/p>\n<p><i>\u201cEen verbod op smaken zou een enorme stap achteruit zijn voor de volksgezondheid en het beperken van de schade.\u00a0<strong>Door een verbod op smaken te steunen, zouden beleidsmakers miljoenen volwassenen weer aan het roken krijgen of op de zwarte markt belanden. Daarmee brengen ze levens in gevaar en negeren ze wetenschappelijk bewijs.<\/strong>\u00a0Wetenschappelijk onderzoek toont keer op keer aan dat smaken een cruciale rol spelen bij het stoppen met roken.
