De World Vapers' Alliance (WVA) heeft de beslissing van het Bulgaarse parlement om "\u2019roekeloos<\/i>\u201d"besluit om alle vape-producten te verbieden. De organisatie noemt het een "\u201cmisplaatst beleid<\/i>\u201d, aangewakkerd door een tragisch incident met een THC-vape op de zwarte markt, en dat het het echte probleem alleen maar zal verergeren: de ongereguleerde zwarte markt voor gevaarlijke producten.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Volgens actuele gegevens heeft Bulgarije het hoogste rookpercentage in de Europese Unie: 37%, 50% hoger dan het EU-gemiddelde.<\/p>\n

De World Vapers' Alliance stelt dat Bulgaarse politici, ondanks deze alarmerende statistiek, ervoor hebben gekozen om een bewezen schadebeperkend middel waarvan is aangetoond dat het rokers helpt te stoppen, af te schaffen. In plaats van de hoofdoorzaak aan te pakken \u2013 illegale en ongereguleerde producten \u2013 heeft de overheid gekozen voor een beleid dat volwassen vapers terug zal dwingen om te gaan roken of in de handen van zwarte dealers te vallen, voegt de organisatie eraan toe.<\/p>\n

Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers' Alliance, verklaarde: \u2019Dit verbod is niet alleen irrationeel, het is ook gevaarlijk. Het verbieden van gereguleerde vape-producten zal het probleem van illegale vapes niet oplossen, maar juist verergeren. De tragische dood van een tiener in Pleven werd veroorzaakt door een THC-vape op de zwarte markt, niet door legale nicotineproducten. Door legale alternatieven te verbieden, zet Bulgarije de deur open voor meer onveilige producten die de markt overspoelen.<\/i>"<\/p>\n
