De World Vapers' Alliance (WVA) zegt zich sterk te verzetten tegen het recent aangenomen wetsvoorstel van de Poolse ministerraad, dat een accijnsheffing wil invoeren op nicotinezakjes en andere nicotineproducten, waaronder e-sigaretten. De WVA noemde de door de minister van Financi\u00ebn voorgestelde wetgeving een "\u2019misplaatst beleid<\/i>\u201d", eraan toevoegend dat het de inspanningen op het gebied van de volksgezondheid dreigt te ondermijnen door minder schadelijke alternatieven voor roken duurder en minder toegankelijk te maken.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers' Alliance, gaf de volgende reactie op de wetgevende maatregel:\u2019Door de prijs van veiligere nicotinealternatieven te verhogen, drijft de Poolse overheid mensen in feite terug naar dodelijke sigaretten. Deze kortzichtige belastingverhoging zal ernstige gevolgen hebben voor de volksgezondheid.<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n

De WVA stelt dat de Poolse regering zelf erkent dat deze regelgeving zal\u00a0\u201cde beschikbaarheid van voorheen onbelaste alternatieven voor traditionele tabaksproducten beperken\u201d<\/i>\u00a0onthult een flagrante minachting voor de principes van schadebeperking.<\/p>\n

Deze aanpak is in tegenspraak met overweldigend bewijs dat de rol van alternatieve nicotineproducten bij het stoppen met roken ondersteunt, voegt de organisatie eraan toe.<\/p>\n
