Volgens de World Vapers' Alliance is de nieuwe Poolse belastingverhoging op vapen een complete tegenslag voor de inspanningen om de schade door tabak te verminderen.<\/h4>\n

De World Vapers' Alliance (WVA) heeft gezegd dat het fel gekant is tegen het besluit van de Poolse regering om een nieuwe verhoging van de accijnzen op verhitte tabaksproducten en e-liquids voor vapen door te voeren. De regering streeft ernaar om het prijsverschil tussen tabaksproducten en hun vervangers te verkleinen om hun consumptie te beperken - en daarmee een belangrijke prikkel voor rokers om over te stappen en te stoppen met roken weg te nemen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Volgens de nieuwe regels van Polen zullen e-liquids voor vapen te maken krijgen met een aanzienlijke en ongerechtvaardigde belastingverhoging, vergelijkbaar met verhitte tabaksproducten, waardoor vapen duurder wordt en minder aantrekkelijk om naar over te stappen. De World Vapers' Alliance zegt dat het verhogen van belastingen op vaping-producten vaak tot onbedoelde gevolgen leidt.<\/p>\n

\u201cTalrijke studies hebben aangetoond dat wanneer de prijs van e-liquids stijgt, veel gebruikers, met name jongvolwassenen, teruggaan naar traditionele sigaretten. Dit kruisprijseffect ondermijnt de inspanningen voor de volksgezondheid door het aantal rokers te verhogen in plaats van te verlagen.<\/i>, aldus de organisatie.<\/p>\n

Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers' Alliance, benadrukte: \u201cBelasting moet in verhouding staan tot de risico's van producten. Vapen is 95% minder schadelijk dan roken, maar deze belasting behandelt het op dezelfde manier, wat de volksgezondheid ondermijnt. Rokers moeten worden gestimuleerd om over te stappen, niet teruggedrongen naar sigaretten vanwege hogere prijzen<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n
