Afgelopen maart kondigde Nieuw-Zeeland een verbod aan op de verkoop van wegwerpvapes en verhoogde terecht de straffen voor winkeliers die betrapt worden op de verkoop van deze producten aan minderjarigen. Australi\u00eb heeft ook besloten de toename van het vapen onder jongeren tegen te gaan door een verbod op de import van wegwerpvapes aan te kondigen, met ingang van 1 januari 2024.<\/p>\n<p>In Europa heeft de Britse premier Rishi Sunak op soortgelijke wijze<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vapingpost.com\/2023\/09\/18\/the-uks-ban-on-disposable-vapes-could-undo-a-lot-of-the-progress-it-has-achieved\/\">een verbod aangekondigd<\/a> over wegwerp-vapes afgelopen januari, terwijl Franse wetgevers afgelopen maart een akkoord bereikten om de apparaten vanaf eind 2024 te verbieden. Beide landen noemden zorgen over het toegenomen gebruik onder minderjarigen als reden voor de maatregelen.<\/p>\n<p>De World Vapers&#039; Alliance (WVA) heeft onlangs Franse beleidsmakers opgeroepen om de onlangs goedgekeurde <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vapingpost.com\/2024\/03\/30\/an-epidemic-of-disposable-vapes-bans-is-spreading-across-the-globe\/\">verbod op vapes voor eenmalig gebruik<\/a>. In lijn met talloze experts op het gebied van tabaksschadebeperking betoogde WVA-directeur Michael Landl dat een verbod ineffectief en contraproductief is voor de volksgezondheid.
