De Deense regering introduceert een pakket van 30 maatregelen om de nicotine- en alcoholconsumptie onder jongeren te verminderen. De plannen omvatten onder meer een verhoging van de accijnzen op nicotineproducten en een verbod op smaakjes.<\/p>\n

Voorstanders zijn ontsteld over deze maatregelen, die genomen worden ondanks het feit dat andere Scandinavische landen enkele van de grootste succesverhalen ter wereld hebben op het gebied van het terugdringen van de schade door tabaksgebruik.<\/p>\n

Verdere maatregelen, overeengekomen door de regeringscoalitiepartners en aangekondigd<\/a> die het ministerie van Volksgezondheid in november heeft aangenomen, omvatten onder andere hogere straffen voor illegale verkoop, beperking van de beschikbaarheid van tabak, nicotine en alcohol en het cre\u00ebren van meer rook- en dampvrije omgevingen.<\/p>\n

\u201c"Het gebruik van tabak, nicotine en alcohol door kinderen en jongeren ontwikkelt zich zorgwekkend en ondanks duidelijke leeftijdsgrenzen voor de verkoop is het tegenwoordig voor minderjarigen maar al te gemakkelijk om aan de producten te komen", aldus Sophie Lohde, minister van Binnenlandse Zaken en Volksgezondheid, in de regeringsverklaring. "Daarom investeren we nu bijna een half miljard kronen... zodat we de trend kunnen keren."\u201d<\/p>\n
