Vape-verbod aangekondigd"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Edinburgh, 23 november 2023<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Een recente <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-12781467\/The-end-smoking-Bid-end-born-2009-buying-vapes-tobacco.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rapport<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> uit de Daily Mail blijkt dat Schotland <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/tobacco-vaping-framework-roadmap-2034\/pages\/7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">plannen<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> om een generatieverbod op roken in te voeren, vergelijkbaar met het voorstel van de Britse regering, maar dan met een extra verbod op vapen. De toevoeging van vapen aan het verbod heeft geleid tot grote bezorgdheid onder consumenten en voorstanders van schadebeperking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance, heeft ernstige bedenkingen bij deze stap:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u201cHoewel de intentie om roken te beteugelen prijzenswaardig is, is het zorgwekkend dat de Schotse regering overweegt dit verbod uit te breiden naar vapen. Het is belangrijk om te onthouden dat het voor tieners al illegaal is om vapes te kopen. Het toevoegen van nog een extra verbod lost de onderliggende problemen niet op. In plaats daarvan moeten we ons richten op het effectiever handhaven van bestaande wetten en het aanpakken van de redenen waarom tieners \u00fcberhaupt beginnen met roken of vapen.\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het rapport van de Daily Mail suggereert dat iedereen die in 2009 of later geboren is \u2013 momenteel 14 jaar of jonger \u2013 nooit legaal tabak of vape-producten in Schotland zal kunnen kopen. Deze aanpak kan volgens Landl onbedoelde gevolgen hebben:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u201cZullen er vape-smokkelbendes actief zijn die vapes vanuit Engeland naar Schotland smokkelen? Hoe absurd dit ook klinkt, we hebben in het verleden gezien waartoe een verbod leidt. Een verbod heeft een geschiedenis van mislukkingen, en dit is niet anders. Het verbieden van het meest succesvolle hulpmiddel om te stoppen met roken in de geschiedenis heeft weinig zin en is contraproductief. We hebben soortgelijke benaderingen in Australi\u00eb rampzalig zien mislukken, wat heeft geleid tot een bloeiende zwarte markt.\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Landl benadrukt nog eens het onderscheid tussen roken en vapen: <\/span><b><i>\u201cVapen gelijkstellen aan roken en beide aan dezelfde regels onderwerpen, is een fundamenteel misverstand over schadebeperking. Vapen is geen roken en moet ook niet als zodanig worden behandeld.
