De Deense regeringscoalitie werkt aan een pakket van 30 maatregelen om het alcohol- en nicotinegebruik in het land terug te dringen, waaronder een verhoging van de belasting op nicotineproducten en een verbod op smaakstoffen. Dergelijke maatregelen dreigen echter een averechts effect te hebben, met een groei van de illegale markt en een terugval naar roken voor consumenten, waarschuwt de World Vaper's Alliance.<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

De directeur van de World Vapers' Alliance, Michael Landl, legde uit: \u2019De Deense overheid mist hier een belangrijk element: een verbod werkt niet. Wat we nodig hebben is een risicogebaseerde regulering. Nicotineproducten zoals e-sigaretten zijn bedoeld om de risico's van traditionele sigaretten te minimaliseren. Net zoals veiligheidsgordels en helmen de veiligheid in het verkeer verhogen, streeft schadebeperking naar praktische oplossingen in plaats van onrealistische idealen.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201c"Prijs en vari\u00ebteit zijn cruciale factoren die bepalen of rokers stoppen. Het verbieden van smaken in e-sigaretten of het verhogen van de prijs van nicotineproducten zal jongeren er niet van weerhouden te gebruiken, maar zal het voor volwassen rokers wel moeilijker maken om te stoppen. Smaken in e-sigaretten worden geassocieerd met een toename van 230% in de kans op stoppen met roken. De Deense overheid zou meer mogelijkheden moeten cre\u00ebren voor mensen om te stoppen met roken, in plaats van ze af te nemen.".<\/i><\/p>\n
