Uit een rapport van de Europese Commissie (EC) dat vorige week is uitgelekt, blijkt dat de Europese Unie (EU) het succes dat Zweden dankzij snus heeft behaald volledig negeert. De EU prijst niet alleen het EU-brede snusverbod vanwege het vermeende succes, maar beveelt ook aan om het uit te breiden naar nicotinezakjes.<\/h4>\n

Een verontrustende bericht op X<\/a> Een uitspraak van Europarlementari\u00ebr Charlie Weimers laat zien hoe wereldvreemd de Europese Commissie is. In een uitgelekt rapport van de Commissie wordt opgeschept over het EU-brede snusverbod en het vermeende succes ervan, terwijl volledig wordt genegeerd dat Zweden zijn rookvrije doelstelling alleen heeft bereikt doordat het van dit verbod is vrijgesteld.<\/p>\n

Alsof dat nog niet erg genoeg is, suggereert de Europese Commissie vervolgens dat de huidig snusverbod<\/a> wordt uitgebreid naar nicotinezakjes. In reactie daarop wees Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers' Alliance (WVA), op de onwetendheid van de commissie.<\/p>\n

\u201cHet Zweedse succes op het gebied van rookvrij beleid is geen wonder<\/a> \u2014 Het is het resultaat van het landelijke, op bewijs gebaseerde beleid ter ondersteuning van het minder schadelijke alternatief voor sigaretten.
