{"id":4465,"date":"2023-07-14T07:06:34","date_gmt":"2023-07-14T11:06:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/?p=4465"},"modified":"2023-07-14T08:42:51","modified_gmt":"2023-07-14T12:42:51","slug":"19-international-harm-reduction-consumer-groups-call-on-the-south-africa-government-to-stop-killing-harm-reduction-in-the-new-tobacco-control-bill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/nl_nl\/19-international-harm-reduction-consumer-groups-call-on-the-south-africa-government-to-stop-killing-harm-reduction-in-the-new-tobacco-control-bill\/","title":{"rendered":"19 Consumentenorganisaties roepen Zuid-Afrika op om te stoppen met het beperken van de schade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Kaapstad, 14 juli 2023 \u2014 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vertegenwoordigers van 19 internationale groepen voor schadebeperking riepen de portefeuillecommissie Gezondheid van het Zuid-Afrikaanse parlement op om vapen en andere alternatieve nicotineproducten te omarmen als instrument in de strijd tegen roken.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>De <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.parliament.gov.za\/storage\/app\/media\/Bills\/2022\/B33_2022_Tobacco_Products_and_Electronic_Delivery_Systems_Control_Bill\/B33_2022_Tobacco_Products_and_Electronic_Delivery_Systems_Control_Bill.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>voorgestelde tekst <\/b><\/a><b>van de Wet op de controle op tabaksproducten en elektronische afgiftesystemen is bedoeld om alternatieve nicotineproducten en brandbare producten op dezelfde manier te reguleren <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">met bepalingen die extra beperkingen opleggen aan de verkoop en productie van tabaks- en nicotineproducten, een verbod op reclame voor tabaksverwarmings- en dampwaren, een verbod op openbaar gebruik van tabaksverwarmings- en dampwaren, een bevoegdheid van de minister om smaakverboden op te leggen voor tabaksverwarmings- en dampwaren en andere.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cRoken is een wereldwijd probleem en moet dringend en adequaat worden aangepakt. Alleen in Zuid-Afrika, <\/span><\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/gsthr.org\/countries\/profile\/zaf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jaarlijks sterven er 42.181 mensen <\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">door tabaksrook. De maatregelen die de Zuid-Afrikaanse regering heeft voorgesteld, omvatten echter verschillende maatregelen die de vooruitgang die Zuid-Afrika heeft geboekt in de strijd tegen de rookepidemie zullen stoppen en daarmee het leven in gevaar zullen brengen van iedereen die succesvol is gestopt met roken, dankzij de ruime beschikbaarheid van alternatieve nicotineproducten.\u201d <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">de in de aanvraag vermelde organisaties.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>De organisaties pleiten voor een risicogebaseerde regelgeving en stellen dat <\/b><b><i>\u201cVoor de doeleinden van de wetgeving moeten roken en dampen duidelijk van elkaar worden onderscheiden en in afzonderlijke bepalingen worden gereguleerd, waarbij dampen wordt erkend als een instrument om roken te verminderen.\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cNicotineproducten moeten worden gereguleerd op basis van hun risicoprofiel. We hebben veel voorbeelden gezien van algehele verboden op alternatieve producten die alleen maar het tegenovergestelde resultaat hebben opgeleverd, met schadelijke gevolgen voor de volksgezondheid. Het is tijd dat onze functionarissen erkennen dat vapen een instrument is om de rookepidemie te bestrijden en niet op dezelfde manier behandeld moet worden.\u201d <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">aldus directeur van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance en een van de ondertekenaars van de aanvraag, Michael Landl.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c&quot;Dit wetsvoorstel geeft de minister van Volksgezondheid de bevoegdheid om regelgeving vast te stellen over elk onderwerp dat hij nodig acht om het publiek te beschermen. De minister van Volksgezondheid krijgt de bevoegdheid om te bepalen wie vape-producten mag verkopen, en waar en wanneer deze verkocht mogen worden.
