{"id":4282,"date":"2023-05-15T07:46:15","date_gmt":"2023-05-15T11:46:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/?p=4282"},"modified":"2023-05-15T07:46:47","modified_gmt":"2023-05-15T11:46:47","slug":"at-what-point-does-anecdotal-evidence-become-statistically-significant-data","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/nl_nl\/at-what-point-does-anecdotal-evidence-become-statistically-significant-data\/","title":{"rendered":"Op welk punt wordt anekdotisch bewijs statistisch significante data?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deze blogpost klinkt voor sommigen misschien wat meer als een klaagzang, maar ik denk dat iedereen die dit soort content normaal leest, mijn frustratie wel zal begrijpen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deze meningen zijn de mijne.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Als je rondkijkt in de THR-community, zul je veel dezelfde mensen zien: mensen die per ongeluk zijn gestopt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vapers delen graag hun verhaal over hoe ze zijn gestopt met roken, omdat we er nog steeds versteld van staan dat we daadwerkelijk succesvol zijn gestopt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De meesten van jullie kennen mijn verhaal wel, maar ik zal hier wat uitgebreider ingaan op de reden waarom mijn frustratie me ertoe aanzet dit bericht te schrijven.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Op mijn 30e kreeg ik een bloedstolsel. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.webmd.com\/dvt\/dvt-who-gets-it#:~:text=You%20can%20get%20deep%2Dvein,double%20with%20each%20passing%20decade.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Volgens WebMD.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201cY<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Je kunt op elke leeftijd diepveneuze trombose krijgen, maar het treft meestal mensen ouder dan 40. Mijn dokter benadrukte dat ik een zeldzaam geval was en dat ik moest stoppen met roken. Ik wist dat hij gelijk had, ik had het mijn hele leven al gehoord. Van bezorgde familie en vrienden en mensen die me bijna dagelijks vertelden dat ik wist dat sigaretten dodelijk waren en dat ik mijn leven verkortte door niet te stoppen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mijn bloedstolsel veranderde mijn leven. Ik moest constant een inzameldoos voor injectiespuiten bij me hebben, omdat ik elke 12 uur stipt de Lovenox-injecties moest toedienen die ik voorgeschreven had gekregen. Deze injecties moeten op een paar centimeter van je navel worden gezet en ze doen pijn. Bovendien veroorzaakt dit medicijn, omdat het bedoeld is om het bloed te verdunnen, blauwe plekken als je jezelf de injectie geeft.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mijn buik zag eruit als een zwart en blauw dartbord. Een schrijnende herinnering elke ochtend als ik mezelf in de spiegel zag. Mijn keuze om te roken was de reden dat ik in deze situatie terecht was gekomen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ik heb alle opties geprobeerd die mijn arts me aanraadde. Niets werkte.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En raad eens wat ik deed? Ik rookte. Mijn gewoonte had me zo in zijn greep dat ik ervoor koos mijn gezondheid verder op het spel te zetten, ook al was ik letterlijk een wandelend reclamebord voor waarom ik moest stoppen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Waarom ben ik dan gefrustreerd?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zoals ik al eerder zei, vertellen voorstanders van e-sigaretten graag hun verhaal. Deze verhalen worden afgedaan als anekdotes. Maar wanneer worden anekdotes nu echte gegevens? E\u00e9n of twee verhalen, ok\u00e9, dat zijn misschien anekdotes. Maar als je duizenden en duizenden verhalen hebt van ex-rokers die daadwerkelijk zijn gestopt, dan m\u00f3\u00e9t dat wel data zijn.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ons wordt verteld dat anekdotisch bewijs gebaseerd is op individuele verhalen in plaats van op betrouwbaar onderzoek of statistieken, en daarom mogelijk niet geldig is.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maar anekdotisch bewijs kan het beeld completer maken. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anekdotisch bewijs<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0kan een belangrijke indicator zijn voor de noodzaak van verder onderzoek.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mijns inziens is het tijd dat de volksgezondheid aandacht besteedt aan deze anekdotes. De THR-gemeenschap zal niet stoppen, en het negeren van al deze volwassenen met hun fantastische stopverhalen is verkeerd.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Deze verhalen verdienen het om gehoord, begrepen en meegenomen te worden als feitelijke gegevens bij het formuleren van beleid en het nemen van beslissingen. Er sterven elke dag mensen aan ziekten die verband houden met roken.
