{"id":3762,"date":"2023-03-13T03:45:11","date_gmt":"2023-03-13T07:45:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/?p=3762"},"modified":"2023-03-13T03:39:34","modified_gmt":"2023-03-13T07:39:34","slug":"fda-misses-the-point-again-reagan-udall-evaluation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/nl_nl\/fda-misses-the-point-again-reagan-udall-evaluation\/","title":{"rendered":"FDA mist opnieuw de kern van de zaak: Reagan-Udall-evaluatie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2022 kondigde FDA-commissaris Califf aan dat de Reagan-Udall Foundation het Center for Tobacco Products zou evalueren. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De stichting\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/reaganudall.org\/sites\/default\/files\/2022-12\/Tobacco%20report%20210pm.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">gezegd<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0dat de CTP \u201ceen cruciale missie heeft om de volksgezondheid te beschermen tegen tabaksgerelateerde ziekten en sterfgevallen en producten reguleert die geen inherent voordeel en enorme maatschappelijke kosten met zich meebrengen. Het is een overheidsreguleringsprogramma met de plicht om effici\u00ebnt, eerlijk en transparant te functioneren.\u201d Ze zeggen ook:\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vapingpost.com\/2023\/03\/03\/us-the-fdas-ctp-review-uncovers-multiple-issues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">gerapporteerd<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0een gebrek aan duidelijkheid en transparantie, evenals problemen met de interne communicatie. Bovendien constateerden ze dat het CTP niet is toegerust om de werklast aan te kunnen die gepaard gaat met het PMTA-proces en andere toezichthoudende taken waarmee zij zijn belast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHet bijna 40 pagina&#039;s tellende rapport benadrukte dat Reagan-Udall &#039;niet in staat was een actueel, alomvattend plan te identificeren dat de prioriteiten van CTP, de richting voor de toekomst en de doelstellingen en doelstellingen op korte en lange termijn duidelijk verwoordt&#039;. De omvattende suggesties omvatten het verbeteren van communicatie en transparantie, mogelijk door middel van een potenti\u00eble openbare bijeenkomst; het aannemen van methoden om meer inbreng van belanghebbenden mogelijk te maken; het ontwikkelen van duidelijkere kaders voor &#039;hoogwaardige&#039; marketingaanvragen voor nicotineproducten, en het vergroten van het &#039;gebruik van het Wetenschappelijk Adviescomit\u00e9 voor Tabaksproducten&#039;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De oplossing die ze, in typische FDA-stijl, bedachten om deze ernstige tekortkomingen binnen het CTP te verhelpen, is om het Congres aan te sporen de invoering van gebruikersvergoedingen goed te keuren ter dekking van de &quot;kosten van de werklast&quot; die door het PMTA-proces wordt veroorzaakt. Hij zei: &quot;Om deze doelen te bereiken, moeten we over de juiste middelen beschikken om personeel aan te nemen en te behouden met de vaardigheden die nodig zijn om effectief te voldoen aan onze volksgezondheidsmandaat met betrekking tot tabak.&quot; Er schieten me een paar dingen te binnen als ik uitspraken als deze hoor: Gebruikersvergoedingen veroorzaakt door &quot;wie?&quot; en dit is een oplossing voor de bovengenoemde problemen die RUF aanhaalt? Ze pakken je geld af en sluiten je vervolgens. Lijkt me legitiem!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In een andere<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/news-events\/press-announcements\/fda-outlines-steps-strengthen-tobacco-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> verklaring van Califf in dit FDA-persbericht<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Hij verdubbelt de misinformatie door te stellen: \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Helaas heeft de tabaksindustrie het agentschap bestreden met betrekking tot veel van de wetenschappelijk onderbouwde maatregelen die we hebben genomen \u2013 waarbij winst belangrijker is dan volksgezondheid. Zo hebben juridische procedures ons, ondanks dat we het enige land zijn met verregaande regelgevende bevoegdheden over de industrie, in tegenstelling tot veel andere landen, tot nu toe twee keer verhinderd om door het Congres verplicht gestelde waarschuwingen op sigarettenpakjes te implementeren die de ernstige gezondheidsrisico&#039;s van roken aankaarten.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dit is werkelijk een komische uitspraak, aangezien CTP duidelijk degene is die winst boven volksgezondheid stelt door 99.99% van de ingediende PMTA-aanvragen af te wijzen en het gebruik door jongeren boven het gebruik door volwassenen te stellen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hoewel vapers niet geschokt zijn door deze reacties op de RUF-beoordeling, vind ik het toch triest om te zien dat zelfs als dergelijke stappen worden genomen met resultaten die <\/span><b>(en zou moeten)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ook al beloven we echte verandering bij de FDA, toch krijgen we nog steeds hetzelfde.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 2022 FDA Commissioner Califf announced a review of its Center for Tobacco Products by the Reagan-Udall Foundation.
