Een coalitie van vape-groepen en activisten voor tabakschadebeperking roept het Australische ministerie van Volksgezondheid op om een einde te maken aan de huidige repressie tegen legale vape-bedrijven.<\/h5>\n

In een brief gepubliceerd op woensdag 20 juli, <\/a>Activisten tegen vapen van over de hele wereld hebben het Australische ministerie van Volksgezondheid opgeroepen om een einde te maken aan de aanhoudende aanvallen op de lokale vape-industrie. Deze actie volgde op een brief die eigenaren van vapewinkels in West-Australi\u00eb van het ministerie van Volksgezondheid ontvingen, waarin hen werd gevraagd hun activiteiten binnen 14 dagen te staken.<\/p>\n

Zeventien consumentenorganisaties voor e-sigaretten wereldwijd ondertekenden de brief ter ondersteuning van de e-sigaretgebruikers in West-Australi\u00eb, samen met de directeur van de wereldwijde belangenorganisatie voor e-sigaretten. Wereld Vapers' Alliantie<\/a> Michael Landl benadrukt nogmaals dat dergelijke acties zullen leiden tot een ramp voor de volksgezondheid.<\/p>\n

\u201c"Vapen is een reddingslijn<\/a> Voor meer dan 80 miljoen mensen die moeite hadden met stoppen met roken. Het is tot nu toe het meest succesvolle hulpmiddel om te stoppen met roken en is als zodanig erkend in onder andere het Verenigd Koninkrijk, Frankrijk en Nieuw-Zeeland. Het sluiten van vapewinkels zal er niet alleen toe leiden dat vapers hun toevlucht zoeken tot de zwarte markt op zoek naar hun favoriete producten, maar zal ook veel rokers ervan weerhouden te stoppen met traditionele sigaretten, omdat ze moeite zullen hebben om alternatieven op de markt te vinden. Door de toegang tot hulpmiddelen voor schadebeperking te beperken, terwijl traditionele sigaretten op de markt blijven, zet de regering van West-Australi\u00eb de deur open voor een ramp voor de volksgezondheid\u201d, aldus Landl.<\/p>\n
