Op 10 mei spraken de partners van de WVA, de Portugese Vereniging van Vapers (APORVAP), in de Begrotings- en Financi\u00ebncommissie van het Portugese parlement, met name over de staatsbegroting voor 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

APORVAP is een non-profitorganisatie die zich inzet voor de belangen van vapers. De activiteiten van APORVAP richten zich op het bestrijden van de vape-belasting in Portugal, die bekendstaat als een van de hoogste in de EU, en op het tegengaan van desinformatie over vapen, ondersteund door wetenschappelijk bewijs over minder schadelijke methoden voor nicotineconsumptie.<\/span><\/p>\n

In hun toespraak in het parlement sprak APORVAP haar steun uit voor een juiste interpretatie van vapen als een middel om de schade van rokers te beperken, en pleitte voor een fiscale aanpassing die de mate van impact van deze producten op de gezondheid van de gebruikers weerspiegelt. Het is gebleken dat Portugal de lidstaat is met de hoogste belasting op nicotinehoudende vloeistoffen (\u20ac 0,32\/ml, waarbij de staatsbegroting een verhoging van 11 TP4T naar \u20ac 0,323\/ml voorstelt), maar liefst 2571 TP4T hoger dan het Europees gemiddelde (\u20ac 0,09\/ml).<\/span><\/p>\n

Cristiano Batista, voorzitter van de raad van bestuur van APORVAP, zei:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe proberen de Commissie en de afgevaardigden opnieuw bewust te maken van het enorme wetenschappelijke bewijs voor de effectiviteit van e-sigaretten bij het verminderen van de algehele gezondheidsschade van rokers. Landen die voorop lopen in het onderzoek, zoals Engeland en Frankrijk, schatten een vermindering van de schade van ongeveer 951 tot 991 ton, wat hen er natuurlijk toe heeft bewogen hun wetgeving aan te passen en e-sigaretten aan te bevelen voor stoppen met roken en ter bescherming van de gezondheid van huidige rokers.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Het WVA-team prijst de inspanningen van APROVAR om beleid ter vermindering van schade in Portugal te bevorderen.<\/span><\/p>\n
