De World Vapers' Alliance (WVA) hield een kunstinstallatie voor het Europees Parlement met een belangrijke boodschap voor beleidsmakers: "Smaken helpen rokers te stoppen".<\/h5>\n

De kunstinstallatie is de derde in een reeks. reeks gebeurtenissen<\/a> voor de Europese campagne #FlavoursMatter van de WVA. Afgelopen april hield de groep een demonstratie waarbij ze de straat op gingen met een billboard met de tekst "Flavours Matter", waarin werd uitgelegd hoe smaken in e-sigaretten rokers helpen te stoppen met roken. Het billboard werd naar het parlementsgebouw in Stockholm gebracht en de week daarop toonde de groep een kunstinstallatie met de boodschap "Flavours Matter \u2013 Flavours help smokers quit", eveneens voor het parlement.<\/p>\n

\u201cVorig jaar hebben Nederlandse burgers in een openbare raadpleging een verbod op smaakstoffen afgewezen met een overweldigende meerderheid van 981.400 stemmen tegen. Politici hebben ervoor gekozen hun stemmen te negeren en doen het nu opnieuw, waarmee ze de levens van tot wel 260.000 Nederlanders in gevaar brengen, die door het ontbreken van smaakstoffen mogelijk weer gaan roken\u201d, aldus Michael Landl, directeur van de WVA, ter gelegenheid hiervan.<\/p>\n

De groep organiseerde in maart 2022 soortgelijke demonstraties in Den Haag, Nederland, op de ochtend dat leden van de Gezondheidscommissie bijeenkwamen om een voorstel van de regering te bespreken om smaken in e-sigaretten te verbieden.<\/p>\n
