In een persbericht van de World Vapers' Alliance (WVA) werd benadrukt dat het eindrapport van het Wetenschappelijk Comit\u00e9 van de EU inzake gezondheid, milieu en opkomende risico's (SCHEER) over e-sigaretten een stap terug is voor de volksgezondheid in Europa, omdat het alle wetenschappelijke bewijzen negeert die pleiten voor het verminderen van de schadelijke gevolgen van tabak.<\/h5>\n

Helaas worden wetenschappelijke gegevens, succesverhalen van consumenten over stoppen met roken en deskundige adviezen die tijdens de consultatieperiode zijn ontvangen, genegeerd., het SCHEER-rapport<\/a> Er werd onjuist gesteld dat er zwak bewijs is voor het succes van e-sigaretten bij het stoppen met roken. Het rapport voegde eraan toe dat er zwak tot matig bewijs is voor een vermindering van het roken.<\/p>\n

In een reactie op het rapport zei de directeur van de Wereld Vapers' Alliantie<\/a> (WVA) Michael Landl zei dat dergelijke misinformatie negatieve gevolgen zal hebben. "Dit rapport is een tragedie voor de volksgezondheid en zal ernstige gevolgen hebben voor zowel rokers als vapers. SCHEER negeert een grote hoeveelheid wetenschappelijk bewijs over vapen, dat allemaal door experts en consumenten aan SCHEER is verstrekt tijdens hun consultatie eerder dit jaar. Ze hebben ervoor gekozen dit te negeren. Dit is een klap in het gezicht van vapers en van het gezond verstand."\u201c<\/p>\n
