25.05.2022 Stockholm, Zweden<\/strong> \u2014 Gisteren stuurde de wereldwijde belangenbehartigingsorganisatie World Vapers Alliance een open brief naar het Zweedse parlement, waarin beleidsmakers werden opgeroepen om het verbod op smaken te stoppen.<\/p>\n

De World Vapers' Alliance hield opnieuw een protestactie tegen het verbod op vape-smaken. De groep marcheerde tijdens de parlementszitting voor het parlement met de slogan "Smaken helpen rokers stoppen" en stuurde een open brief naar parlementsleden om hen aan te sporen tegen het verbod te stemmen.<\/p>\n

Eerder dit jaar heeft de Zweedse regering ge\u00efntroduceerd<\/a> Een wetsvoorstel dat alle niet-tabaksmaken voor vapes in nicotine- en niet-nicotineproducten zou verbieden. Indien goedgekeurd, treedt het wetsvoorstel naar verwachting op 1 januari 2023 in werking.<\/p>\n

\u201c"Ik heb zelf profijt gehad van vapen en ben de afgelopen jaren rookvrij gebleven. Net als de meeste andere rokers probeerde ik een uitweg te vinden van sigaretten, maar niets hielp voor mij: de pleisters, de kauwgom, cold turkey. Vapen \u2013 en vooral de combinatie met smaakjes \u2013 was mijn redding. En net als ik zijn er wereldwijd miljoenen mensen die gezonder zijn en een beter leven leiden dankzij vapen", aldus Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers' Alliance.<\/p>\n

Volgens Landl zal het verbod op vape-smaken rampzalige gevolgen hebben voor de volksgezondheid:<\/p>\n

\u201cVolgens de Yale School of Public Health wordt het vapen van e-sigaretten met een smaakje geassocieerd met een 230% toename van de kans op stoppen met roken onder volwassenen. Als vape-smaken verboden zouden worden, zouden meer dan 150.000 <\/a>Zweden zouden weer kunnen worden gedwongen om te gaan roken, wat in strijd is met elke autoriteit op het gebied van de volksgezondheid.\u201d<\/p>\n
