Ze deelt haar bijzondere verhaal en haar werk met gemarginaliseerde gemeenschappen, en hoe de Academy haar heeft geholpen om te groeien als activist en de perceptie over vapen te veranderen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wat is jouw vaping-verhaal?<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2167\" src=\"https:\/\/wvaold.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Dorothy-Sanda.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"254\" height=\"276\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Ik werk met gemarginaliseerde gemeenschappen in mijn land en door mijn dagelijkse contacten met deze gemeenschappen heb ik gezien hoe gezinnen kapot worden gemaakt en levens verloren gaan als gevolg van roken. Deze gemeenschappen hebben weinig tot geen kennis van vapen als een veiliger alternatief. In mijn streven om het levensonderhoud en de gezondheid van deze gemarginaliseerde mensen te verbeteren, voelde ik de behoefte om op te komen voor vapen en ervoor te zorgen dat het door de lokale overheid als optie wordt aangeboden aan mensen die willen stoppen met roken.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hoe heeft vapen je leven veranderd?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tijdens mijn contacten met gemarginaliseerde gemeenschappen in mijn land heb ik veel mensen ontmoet die problemen hebben met roken en op zoek zijn naar een veiliger alternatief. Ik heb hen verteld over vapen en ik heb gezien hoe hun leven ten goede is veranderd. Dat geeft me een gevoel van voldoening, dat ik mensen kan helpen die het hard nodig hebben, en dat maakt het allemaal de moeite waard.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wat was je ervaring met WVA Academy? Wat heb je ervan geleerd?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ik heb erg genoten van de sessies. Ze waren zeer informatief. Ik heb geleerd hoe verschillende activisten in hun respectieve landen campagne voeren voor vapen en ik heb daar een aantal belangrijke tips uit gehaald. Ik heb ook geleerd hoe ik politici kan betrekken bij campagnes ter bevordering van vapen en hoe ik protesten en bewustwordingscampagnes via sociale media kan organiseren, vooral in deze tijd van de wereldwijde COVID-19-pandemie.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Waarom denk je dat het belangrijk is om pal te staan voor vapen?<\/p>\n<p><\/strong>Vapen is een veiliger alternatief dat iemands welzijn sociaal, fysiek, emotioneel en mentaal verbetert, en ik ben er sterk van overtuigd dat het heel belangrijk is om voor vapen op te komen.
