De enqu\u00eate vraagt mensen of ze het eens zijn met een verbod op gearomatiseerde e-liquids voor e-sigaretten (ook wel vape-smaken genoemd), en het overweldigende antwoord is NEE.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Van de 757 inzendingen die op de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.internetconsultatie.nl\/smaakjes\/reageren\">offici\u00eble website<\/a>, 746 (98.54%) waren tegen het verbod, met 9 ongeldige inzendingen en slechts twee inzendingen ter ondersteuning van het voorstel van de overheid.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">De consultatie, die vandaag (19 januari) zou eindigen, is verlengd tot 2 februari \u201cvanwege de grote vraag\u201d, aldus een verklaring die zojuist op de website van de overheid is gepubliceerd.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance, gaf het volgende commentaar op de consultatie:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"\"><em>\u201cIk ben blij dat gezond verstand en logica de overhand krijgen. 98% van de ingediende bezwaren tegen het smaakverbod vormen een kristalheldere boodschap voor de regering: het is tijd om dit vreselijke idee te schrappen en verder te gaan. Uit respect voor de burgers en op basis van wetenschappelijk bewijs is het afschaffen van het smaakverbod de enige mogelijke weg vooruit. Al het andere zou een schande zijn.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\">Het voorstel om vape-smaken in Nederland te verbieden, heeft overweldigende reacties opgeleverd, omdat het een slecht doordachte en slechte oplossing is voor een niet-bestaand probleem. In Nederland dampt 3.1% van de volwassenen. De belangrijkste motivatie voor het vapen onder Nederlandse volwassenen is het verminderen van hun rookgewoonte. Bijna driekwart (544) van alle inzendingen voor de consultatie tot nu toe noemde stoppen met roken als reden om vape-smaken niet te verbieden! Het verbod op smaken door de overheid zou bijna 260.000 Nederlandse vapers het risico geven om weer te gaan roken. Dit zou een afschuwelijke uitkomst voor de gezondheid zijn, met gevolgen voor de hele Nederlandse samenleving.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Michael Landl voegde toe:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"\"><em>\u201cDe tweede verlenging van de consultatie toont enerzijds aan dat het hele proces vanaf het begin gebrekkig was, en anderzijds dat druk vanuit de basis van vapers het beleid kan veranderen. Dit is bemoedigend, maar de strijd is nog niet voorbij. We moeten de druk hoog houden om ervoor te zorgen dat wetgevers het verbod niet in een later stadium doordrukken.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\">Smaken zijn essentieel omdat ze de kans op stoppen met roken meer dan twee keer zo groot maken in vergelijking met mensen die vapes zonder smaak gebruiken. Het weglaten van smaken zou vapers alleen maar aanmoedigen om weer te gaan roken, terwijl het huidige rokers juist ontmoedigt om te stoppen. Vapen heeft tientallen miljoenen mensen wereldwijd geholpen om te stoppen met roken en is minder schadelijk dan sigaretten.
