{"id":1223,"date":"2020-05-11T18:36:14","date_gmt":"2020-05-11T22:36:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/?p=1223"},"modified":"2022-05-09T09:37:51","modified_gmt":"2022-05-09T13:37:51","slug":"why-start-the-wva","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/nl_nl\/why-start-the-wva\/","title":{"rendered":"Waarom de WVA starten?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">Toen het Consumer Choice Center mij benaderde met de vraag of ik ge\u00efnteresseerd was om leiding te geven aan een alliantie van vapers, was mijn eerste reactie: dit is heel persoonlijk.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Waarom zou ik publiekelijk aankondigen dat ik net van een gewoonte af ben die me langzaam aan het doden was? Maar toen ik wat meer te weten kwam over het politieke debat rond vapen, besefte ik al snel dat ik me ermee moest bemoeien.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">In het debat over vapen zijn meerdere partijen betrokken. Sommigen van hen hebben een ernstig misverstand over de wetenschap en wat het betekent om een vaper te zijn.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">De komende jaren worden er belangrijke beslissingen genomen over de toekomst van vapen. Dit geldt zowel op mondiaal niveau, waarbij de WHO overweegt om e-sigaretten te reguleren als tabak. Ook wordt de EU-richtlijn inzake tabaksproducten herzien.<\/p>\n<p><strong>De WVA spreekt namens vapers \u2013 zowel huidige als toekomstige \u2013 over de hele wereld en zal vechten voor hun recht om te kiezen voor het tot nu toe bekendste hulpmiddel om te ontsnappen \u2013 vapen \u2013 om hen te helpen los te komen van hun tabaksrookverslaving.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-239 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/wvaold.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/2-1-300x297.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"297\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Als vapers niet gehoord worden in deze debatten, dan kan vapen verloren gaan en daarmee ook deze enorme kans voor de volksgezondheid. U zult in mijn vorige blog hebben gezien welke dramatische impact vapen op mijn leven heeft gehad. Ik ben niet uniek. Vapen kan miljoenen levens ten goede veranderen en we verdienen beter van onze wetgevers en volksgezondheidsfunctionarissen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Nu we te maken hebben met Covid-19, stroomt er nog meer misinformatie over vapen de netwerken binnen. Mensen beweren, ten onrechte, dat vapen net zo gevaarlijk is als roken (ook al is bewezen dat het 95% veiliger is) en dat het het coronavirus kan verspreiden (wat wederom niet waar is gebleken).<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Pragmatici zoals ik beweren dat het bieden van een uitweg uit rookverslaving belangrijker is dan ooit, en dat mensen die de overstap hebben gemaakt niet verleid moeten worden om terug te keren door gebrek aan toegang tot vaping-producten. Op dezelfde manier kunnen degenen die nog steeds roken de verhoogde bedreiging voor de gezondheid die COVID-19 vormt niet zomaar negeren. Ze hebben het vaping-alternatief meer dan ooit nodig.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Dat is waar de WVA in beeld komt. Het spreekt namens vapers \u2013 zowel huidige als toekomstige \u2013 over de hele wereld, en het zal vechten voor hun recht om het meest bekende ontsnappingsinstrument tot nu toe te kiezen \u2013 vapen \u2013 om hen te helpen los te komen van hun tabaksrookverslaving.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When the Consumer Choice Center approached me asking if I was interested in heading up an alliance of vapers my first reaction was: this is very personal.
