<\/strong><\/p>\n

26-8-2026 \u2013 Een bijgewerkte versie Cochrane-beoordeling<\/a> Uit 80 gerandomiseerde onderzoeken met bijna 30.000 rokers is gebleken dat nicotine-vaping meer rokers helpt stoppen dan nicotinevervangende therapie (NRT) zoals kauwgom of pleisters. Cochrane beoordeelt deze bevinding als "hoge zekerheid" (de hoogste beoordeling die het bureau zelden toekent).<\/p>\n

Het voorstel werd twee weken na de afsluiting van de openbare raadpleging door de Europese Commissie over de herziening van de Tabaksproductenrichtlijn (TPD) gepubliceerd. Het voorstel van de Commissie zal naar verwachting later dit jaar worden gepubliceerd en zal pleiten voor een verbod op smaakstoffen en strengere regelgeving voor minder schadelijke nicotineproducten.<\/p>\n

Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers' Alliance, zei:<\/p>\n

\u201cHet zou inmiddels duidelijk moeten zijn dat vapen werkt als hulpmiddel bij het stoppen met roken. Toch blijft de Europese Commissie dit ontkennen en weigert ze de wetenschappelijke realiteit te erkennen.\u201d. <\/em>Het is tijd om vapen volledig te omarmen als hulpmiddel bij het stoppen met roken en een einde te maken aan de overregulering en verboden. Vapen werkt, en rokers moeten toegang hebben tot rookvrije alternatieven.<\/em><\/strong>\u201d
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

Wat het onderzoek aan het licht bracht:<\/p>\n

Ongeveer vier op de honderd mensen stoppen met roken door het gebruik van nicotine-e-sigaretten dan met nicotinepleisters of -kauwgom. Er werd geen bewijs gevonden voor een toename van ernstige schade, en het onderzoek wees uit dat nicotine-e-sigaretten beter werken dan nicotinevrije varianten.<\/p>\n

De World Vapers' Alliance roept de Europese Commissie op deze bevindingen te erkennen en toekomstige regelgeving hierop te baseren. Vapen hoort thuis in elke strategie tegen roken en moet worden gereguleerd op basis van de risico's. \u201cVerboden en overregulering werken niet. Zonder vapen zal Europa zijn rookvrije doelstelling niet halen.
