Hier zijn een paar updates van de afgelopen week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Allereerst is het belangrijk om nogmaals te vermelden dat de WVA zich heeft aangesloten bij een pan-Europese coalitie van consumentenorganisaties in een open brief waarin de Zweedse regering wordt opgeroepen om haar veto uit te spreken over het meest recente ontwerp van de herziening van de EU-richtlijn inzake tabaksaccijnzen (TED). De voorgestelde belastingverhoging 50% dreigt ex-rokers in de problemen te brengen door hen terug te drijven naar traditionele sigaretten.<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/nl_be\/brussels-targets-ex-smokers-eu-presidency-pushes-50-hike-in-proposed-vape-tax\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Lees meer<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> over dit verhaal hier.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het is echter niet alleen maar slecht nieuws op dit vlak. Het Europees Economisch en Sociaal Comit\u00e9 (EESC) heeft weliswaar opgeroepen tot een herziening van de tabaksbelastingrichtlijn, maar heeft de EU ook aangespoord een risicogebaseerde aanpak te hanteren en een duidelijk onderscheid te maken tussen brandbare en niet-brandbare producten. Zou dit een teken kunnen zijn dat er ook binnen de EU reden is tot optimisme?
