Dat alleen al zou wenkbrauwen moeten doen fronsen, want FILTERED is niet zomaar een evenementorganisator of onderzoeksgroep. Het is een lobby-initiatief dat actief campagne voert voor strengere regels voor vapen en andere nicotinevervangers. Met andere woorden, de EU gebruikt publiek geld om een groep te financieren die vervolgens lobbyt bij EU-instellingen om meer verboden en regelgeving door te voeren \u2013 beleid dat de instelling zelf duidelijk ook wenst. Dit soort circulaire financiering roept ernstige vragen op over belangenverstrengeling en transparantie bij het vormgeven van volksgezondheidsbeleid.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het FILTERED-project pleit er ook voor om &quot;gezondheidsschadelijke industrie\u00ebn&quot; uit beleidsdiscussies te weren en roept op tot denormalisering ervan. Ze gebruiken zelfs beeldmateriaal op hun website. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/canwebeseriousnow.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Het vergelijken van vertegenwoordigers van de industrie met slangen, ratten en ander ongedierte. Een andere partner van FILTERED, het Smoke-Free Partnership, dat ook door de EU wordt gefinancierd, doet zelfs nog meer. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.corporateeurope.org\/sites\/default\/files\/2025-02\/Urgent%20need%20for%20strengthened%20implementation%20of%20WHO%20FCTC%20Article%205.3%20in%20EU%20institutions%20-%20Smoke%20Free%20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">roept openlijk op<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ze willen consumenten uitsluiten van beleidsdebatten. Ze zijn zelfs zo ver gegaan dat ze specifiek hebben opgeroepen om de World Vapers&#039; Alliance en de Europese burgers die ons steunen uit te sluiten van discussies over toekomstige nicotineregelgeving. Deze poging tot uitsluiting is niet alleen in strijd met de EU-regels, maar ook rechtstreeks met het Better Regulation-initiatief van de Commissie, dat erop gericht is ervoor te zorgen dat burgers, bedrijven en belanghebbenden betrokken worden bij het besluitvormingsproces.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dit standpunt ondermijnt de principes van democratische participatie en inclusieve beleidsvorming. Democratische beleidsvorming is afhankelijk van een breed scala aan belanghebbenden. Wanneer een door de EU gefinancierde groep uitsluiting bepleit, is er sprake van een belangenconflict en vormt dit een bedreiging voor evenwichtige besluitvorming.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De Europese Commissie heeft herhaaldelijk haar voornemen uitgesproken om de controle op tabak en e-sigaretten aan te scherpen, onder andere via de Tabaksbelastingrichtlijn. V\u00e1rhelyi heeft ook verdere maatregelen aangekondigd met betrekking tot ongezonde voeding en alcohol. De vraag voor consumenten is simpel: waarom zouden beslissingen over de gezondheid van volwassenen moeten worden genomen door mensen die denken te kunnen bepalen wat volwassenen met hun eigen gezondheid moeten doen? Waarom zouden stemmen die met belastinggeld worden gefinancierd zwaarder wegen dan die van ons?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zelfs als het doel is om de volksgezondheid te verbeteren, strookt het beperken van minder schadelijke alternatieven niet met het doel om de volksgezondheid te verbeteren. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/nl_be\/harm-reduction-vaping-fact-sheet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bewijs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Of de dagelijkse realiteit van veel vapers.
