De beweringen van de commissaris tonen een diepgaand misverstand over het beperken van de schadelijke gevolgen van tabak en bedreigen een van Europa&#039;s meest effectieve instrumenten om levens te redden.<\/p>\n<p>Commissaris V\u00e1rhelyi zei tijdens een evenement in Gastein, Oostenrijk, dat de EU de belastingen op e-sigaretten en bijbehorende e-liquids zal verhogen tot hetzelfde niveau als bij sigaretten. Hij wees daarbij op de stijgende aantallen jongeren die e-sigaretten gebruiken als bewijs van de schadelijkheid ervan. Dit typische EU-gedrag negeert miljoenen mensen die overstappen op veiligere alternatieven, waardoor de raadpleging volkomen zinloos wordt.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance, zei:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cMiljoenen mensen hebben hun gezondheidsrisico&#039;s verlaagd door over te stappen van roken op vapen, een wetenschappelijk bewezen feit.
