In plaats van vooruitgang te omarmen, stelt de organisatie, zetten de WHO en het secretariaat van het Raamverdrag inzake tabaksbestrijding (FCTC) hun &quot;ideologische kruistocht tegen schadebeperking voort \u2013 waarbij ze wetenschap negeren, consumenten het zwijgen opleggen en zwichten voor de invloed van miljardairs&quot;.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/COP11_Playbook.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">nieuw document van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance<\/a>, Uit een rapport dat vorige week verscheen, blijkt hoe landen als Zweden, het Verenigd Koninkrijk, Nieuw-Zeeland en Japan wereldwijd vooroplopen in het terugdringen van het aantal rokers door minder schadelijke alternatieven aan te bieden, zoals vapen, nicotinezakjes en heat-not-burn-producten. Deze strategie\u00ebn leveren concrete resultaten op: in Zweden is het aantal rokers gedaald tot minder dan 61 per 400.000 personen, en het op bewijs gebaseerde beleid van het Verenigd Koninkrijk heeft het aantal rokers teruggebracht tot het laagste niveau ooit. Japan heeft de sigarettenverkoop in slechts acht jaar tijd gehalveerd door technologisch geavanceerde alternatieven toe te staan.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance, zei:\u00a0<i>\u201c&quot;Het geld van Bloomberg mag dan wel de stilte in sommige ruimtes afdwingen, maar de wetenschap kan niet voor altijd verborgen blijven.&quot;.<\/i>\u00a0<i>Met nog 100 dagen te gaan, moeten landen hun verantwoordelijkheid nemen en zich verzetten tegen deze elitaire, consumentonvriendelijke agenda. Schadebeperking is niet controversieel, het redt levens.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Maar de Wereldgezondheidsorganisatie is niet ge\u00efnteresseerd, zegt de World Vapers&#039; Alliance.
