Zij hebben de afgevaardigden naar de komende onderhandelingen over het Kaderverdrag inzake tabaksbestrijding (FCTC) in november verzocht de rol van veiligere alternatieven voor sigaretten te erkennen.<\/p>\n<p>Tijdens een forum op 3 september in Makati ondertekenden experts en consumentenorganisaties een gezamenlijke verklaring waarin ze de WHO opriepen om &quot;schadebeperking volledig te integreren in de tabaksbestrijding&quot;. Ze betoogden dat de huidige aanpak van de organisatie wetenschappelijk bewijs en de realiteit van de consument negeert.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHet bewijs is duidelijk: verbranding is dodelijk, niet nicotine. Er bestaan veiligere en effectievere alternatieven.
