Athene, 16-4-2025. Consumentenorganisaties en voorstanders van e-sigaretten uit Griekenland en heel Europa, waaronder de Griekse Vapers' Alliance en de World Vapers' Alliance (WVA), luiden de alarmklok over het beleid van het Ministerie van Volksgezondheid. voorgesteld verbod<\/a>\u00a0Dit geldt voor alle smaken e-sigaretten, behalve tabak en menthol. Ze waarschuwen dat deze maatregel het moeizaam behaalde succes van Griekenland bij het terugdringen van het aantal rokers teniet kan doen.<\/p>\n

Sinds 2019, toen Griekenland schadebeperking officieel als een kernpijler van zijn tabaksbeleid aannam, heeft het land de voorheen groeiende trend van roken omgekeerd \u2013 een schril contrast met de stagnatie die in een groot deel van de EU te zien is.<\/p>\n

Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers' Alliance, verklaarde:<\/p>\n

\u201c"Een verbod op smaakstoffen zou een enorme stap terug zijn voor de volksgezondheid en het beperken van de schade.".\u00a0Door een verbod op smaakstoffen te steunen, zouden beleidsmakers miljoenen volwassenen terugdrijven naar roken of naar de zwarte markt, waardoor levens in gevaar komen en wetenschappelijk bewijs wordt genegeerd.<\/strong>\u00a0Wetenschappelijk onderzoek toont consequent aan dat smaken een cruciale rol spelen bij het stoppen met roken. Het steunen van een verbod op smaakstoffen negeert deze bevindingen en de duidelijke wil van het volk.\u00a0Dit zal meer kwaad dan goed doen.<\/strong>\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
