Beleidsmakers hebben misschien goede bedoelingen \u2013 zoals het terugdringen van het aantal rokers of het beschermen van jongeren tegen nicotine \u2013 maar het beleid dat uiteindelijk wordt gevoerd, spreekt die doelen vaak tegen. Is dat een contradictie? Niet echt. Zo werkt een verbod nu eenmaal. Of beter gezegd: zo werkt het niet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In de wereld van tabakschadebeperking kom je vaak volwassenen tegen die zijn gestopt met roken dankzij minder schadelijke alternatieven zoals e-sigaretten, pouches of snus. Maar in overheidskringen hoor je vaker discussies over het verbieden van e-sigaretaroma&#039;s, het verhogen van de belastingen op veiligere producten of het volledig verbieden van e-sigaretten. De succesverhalen worden vaak genegeerd.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hoe is het dan toch gekomen dat er zo&#039;n enorme kloof is ontstaan tussen consumenten en beleidsmakers?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De WVA lanceerde een enqu\u00eate om deze kloof aan het licht te brengen. Hoewel vapen wereldwijd steeds meer aan beperkingen onderhevig is, gebruiken mensen het nog steeds om te stoppen met roken. Beleidsmakers moeten hiernaar luisteren.
