De nieuwe belastingverhoging op e-sigaretten in Polen is een complete tegenslag voor de inspanningen om de schadelijke gevolgen van tabak te verminderen, aldus de World Vapers' Alliance.<\/h4>\n

De World Vapers' Alliance (WVA) heeft zich fel uitgesproken tegen het besluit van de Poolse overheid om de accijnzen op verhitte tabaksproducten en e-liquids voor e-sigaretten te verhogen. De overheid wil het prijsverschil tussen tabaksproducten en hun alternatieven verkleinen om het gebruik ervan te beperken \u2013 waarmee een belangrijke stimulans voor rokers om over te stappen en te stoppen met roken wordt weggenomen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Volgens de nieuwe Poolse regelgeving zullen e-liquids voor e-sigaretten een aanzienlijke en ongerechtvaardigde belastingverhoging ondergaan, vergelijkbaar met verhitte tabaksproducten. Dit maakt vapen duurder en minder aantrekkelijk voor potenti\u00eble gebruikers. De World Vapers' Alliance stelt dat belastingverhogingen op vapenproducten vaak leiden tot onbedoelde gevolgen.<\/p>\n

\u201cTalrijke studies hebben aangetoond dat wanneer de prijs van e-vloeistoffen stijgt, veel gebruikers, met name jongvolwassenen, weer overstappen op traditionele sigaretten. Dit prijseffect ondermijnt de inspanningen op het gebied van de volksgezondheid, omdat het de rookcijfers juist verhoogt in plaats van verlaagt.<\/i>," verklaarde de organisatie.<\/p>\n

Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers' Alliance, benadrukte: \u2019Belastingheffing moet in verhouding staan tot de risico's van producten. Vapen is minder schadelijk dan roken, maar deze belasting behandelt het op dezelfde manier, wat de volksgezondheid ondermijnt. Rokers zouden gestimuleerd moeten worden om over te stappen, in plaats van teruggedrongen te worden naar sigaretten vanwege hogere prijzen.<\/i>.\u201d<\/p>\n
