{"id":5656,"date":"2024-06-10T06:25:54","date_gmt":"2024-06-10T10:25:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/?p=5656"},"modified":"2024-06-10T06:25:54","modified_gmt":"2024-06-10T10:25:54","slug":"education-not-plain-packaging-key-to-protecting-youth-from-vaping","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldvapersalliance.com\/nl_be\/education-not-plain-packaging-key-to-protecting-youth-from-vaping\/","title":{"rendered":"Voorlichting, en niet een neutrale verpakking, is de sleutel tot het beschermen van jongeren tegen vapen."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">10 juni 2024, Den Haag \u2013 De World Vapers&#039; Alliance spreekt haar ernstige bezorgdheid uit over het recente besluit van het Nederlandse kabinet om een aanvraag in te dienen. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rijksoverheid.nl\/actueel\/nieuws\/2024\/06\/07\/neutrale-verpakking-wordt-verplicht-voor-vapes-en-sigaren\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">neutrale verpakking<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> eisen voor vapenproducten. De maatregel, voorgesteld door staatssecretaris Van Ooijen van Volksgezondheid, Welzijn en Sport, is bedoeld om deze producten minder aantrekkelijk te maken voor jongeren, maar negeert cruciale verschillen tussen vapen en roken.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u201cDe ultieme bescherming voor jongeren ligt in onderwijs en een zinvol leven voor de Europese jeugd. We moeten naar hun stem luisteren. Onderzoeken tonen consequent aan dat tieners geneigd zijn risicovol gedrag te vertonen wanneer ze geconfronteerd worden met uitdagingen zoals schoolproblemen, gezondheidsproblemen of armoede. Tegelijkertijd speelt de verpakking slechts een ondergeschikte rol bij de initiatie tot risicovol gedrag. Als het daadwerkelijke beschermen van jongeren het doel is, wordt het pleiten voor beter onderwijs, betere gezondheidszorg en betere economische omstandigheden essentieel. Helaas is het bereiken van deze doelen complex, waardoor veel politici kiezen voor sensationele maar ineffectieve beleidsmaatregelen die de tastbare resultaten over het hoofd zien.\u201d <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">aldus Michael Landl, directeur van de World Vapers&#039; Alliance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De World Vapers&#039; Alliance is van mening dat accurate en op feiten gebaseerde informatie over vapen essentieel is. Het plaatsen van vapenproducten in dezelfde regelgevingscategorie als brandbare tabaksproducten, inclusief de verplichting tot neutrale verpakkingen, dreigt rokers te misleiden over de aanzienlijke voordelen van overstappen op vapen wat betreft het verminderen van de schadelijke gevolgen. Onderzoek toont aan dat vapen 95% minder schadelijk is dan het roken van sigaretten.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hoewel de intentie om vapen onder jongeren te voorkomen begrijpelijk is, is het essentieel om dit in evenwicht te brengen met de noodzaak om stoppen met roken onder volwassenen te bevorderen.
